Help Strengthen a Bio Family
A mother of four and recipient of our affordable housing program needs items to make her house a home.
At the moment, the mother is unable to financially afford the item requested. So we are calling for any assistance to meet this need for the family. In doing so, the mother's needs will be met. A level of comfort will be provided to the mother which will positively impact her confidence thus positively impacting her parental interactions with her children and her personal attitude towards herself and others.

Help Preserve a Foster Care Placement
2 sisters (14 and 8 years old) in a new foster placement are sharing an old daybed to sleep in. The new family is requesting help with a set of bunk beds. This will help the girls feel like they have a place of their own but also not feel isolated from their sister.

Help Prevent a Child From Entering Foster Care
The children have been sheltered, reunified and sheltered again. The caregiver initially moved in a larger home to accommodate the kids. When the children were reunified, she could not afford the large space and moved in with her sister. The children were sheltered again and placed with her. She did not want to chance moving and the children transitioning someplace else. She does not qualify for level 1 licensing due to sleeping arrangements. The space is small, caregiver, 2 girls are sleeping in the living area, boys (including the homeowners' children), are in the second room. The caregiver is trying to manage and keep all the children together. I spoke with the caregiver, and she stated that it saddens her that the girls do not have their own space, but she's in fear of getting something and they are returned. She stated that the children have huge appetites and it's a struggle trying to make sure food is replenished at times. The caregiver did not ask for a blow-up mattress. However, I am requesting help for a full-size blow- up mattress that the girls can utilize and share in the Livingroom. In addition, I'm asking that this family receives gift cards for groceries and supplies and personal items. A relative caregiver funds application was submitted, and she will more than likely get funds starting next month. This request is solely to keep these children together. The living situation isn't ideal for them, but they are with someone they love and trust.
