I am requesting assistance for a family of 3 who lost their home in Malibu due to the Palisades Fire. The couple has a 19 yr old son who is autistic. They had guest houses on the property that they rented out and provided revenue to pay for the mortgage. The husband has a small travel business which isn’t doing well at the moment and their income is very limited. They were fortunate enough to be able to stay with friends but their time there will soon be coming to an end and they will need to look for other housing options. Unfortunately, they did not have homeowners insurance. They did apply for FEMA and have received some assistance but they are awaiting to hear back about assistance with rebuilding their home. The client is an artist and would also use the property for photoshoots which also helped revenue income. Their current goal is to get into a rental so they can begin the long process of rebuilding their home. They lost all of their belongings, from furniture to clothing to jewelry. They have nothing but the clothes on their backs that they left with the day of the fire. I am requesting financial assistance for this family to help with their everyday expenses and with the purchase of clothing.

The client in need is a 53 yr. Old woman who was living with her 15 yr. old dog in Pacific Palisades. Although her home was not destroyed, it suffered significant damage and it was deemed unlivable. The client’s homeowner’s insurance policy had been previously cancelled in 2024 and she was forced to go with California Fair Plan Insurance which doesn’t have much coverage in regards to fire damage. The client has lost work due to the fires and is currently collecting unemployment. She is currently staying with a friend but will soon be going to an AirBnb through the assistance of 211 LA. The client is in need of financial assistance. She needs to start cleanup and remediation of her home. She is also in need of assistance with paying for one of her medications that is very expensive. The client is overwhelmed with all that needs to be done in regards to her home. She has a friend who will be coming from out of state to help her navigate through it. I am requesting financial assistance for the client so she can get her medication and start the recovery process of her home.

The client's personal belongings were destroyed due to the wildfires. The client is a single mother of one college age student. She is also a pet parent. She is the sole provider. The client’s work clothes were ruined. This prevents her from successfully going back to work. The client attempted to apply for Calfresh benefits but was denied; she plans to appeal the decision, since her income is limited. The client will not be able to move back into her home for another six months as her home is cleaned out and repaired. Through the support of peers and the insurance company, the client secured temporary housing. I respectfully ask that this client is assisted financially. If assisted, the client will use this money to purchase clothing for herself and daughter, work tools, food for the family, toiletries, towels, sheets and other household need the client needs. Thank you.

Single male was a victim of the Pacific Palisades fire for both his home and his business. Home is still intact, but household items have smoke damage and he needs to throw them away and replace them. The business was completely destroyed. The individual had no renters insurance for his home but had insurance for his business; however, the insurance was not able to cover all the losses for his business. The individual found a new apartment in Santa Monica and needs to replace the smoke damaged items with his own funds. He does not want an SBA loan for his business as he does not have the funds to pay the loan back. He has reached out to FEMA and completed an application for assistance, but has not heard back from them. It would be very helpful for the client to receive these funds to replace both household items that were smoke-damaged and to help his small business that was destroyed in the fire.

Single mother in her late 50’s has a daughter in college, a dog and a cat. They were victims of the Pacific Palisades fire. The daughter is set to return from college on 05/05/25, and live with the mother permanently. Mother has a small business that she was working from her home at the time of the disaster. The mother home was completely destroyed and lost all of her items both personal and her business. Mother was able to purchase some clothing, office equipment, pet supplies and other household items, however, she purchased these items on credit card. She has pending cases with FEMA and SBA for assistance, as well as waiting for her insurance to assess the damage. She did get some monetary assistance from FEMA, which helped with some of her expenses and establishing new housing, but she still hasn't replaced everything or the big furniture items yet in her home. The request will help assist the mother with paying off her credit card debt, and purchasing other household items that the family will need.

Student is living with his family and siblings in a motel. They have little ability to make food and are requesting fast food gift cards to help until they are able to cook in an apartment. Family likes Jersey mikes, Pizza Hut and subway. Walmart gift cards to buy microwaveable meals would also be helpful. Student was on a list for santas helpers through the community and was unable to attend the event. Family is so grateful for any gift cards made available to help them out.

This is a married couple at the Beverly Hills Hilton, where they were staying through the 211LA/Hilton program. During our Wildfire Care Coordination meeting, the husband was visibly frustrated and skeptical about receiving assistance, repeatedly expressing doubt that any support would be available. His wife, however, was determined to seek help and insisted on staying to explore their options. Before the disaster, they lived in a mortgage-free, three-bedroom, two-bathroom home. While their house was not destroyed, it sustained significant damage, leaving them temporarily homeless. Since January 7, 2025, they have experienced high levels of stress and uncertainty, which has strained their marriage. The wife expressed deep frustration, even mentioning that the situation had made her consider divorce, as her husband’s anger has been affecting their relationship. Their primary need is assistance with replacing lost furniture, which they believe would help them rebuild a sense of normalcy. Providing financial assistance could not only help them recover essential belongings but also restore hope and stability during this challenging time.

Help Strengthen a Bio Family
Family needs a freestanding gas range stove. The parents has been trying to budget for one but has not been successful. Although, the parents are having the challenge of purchasing a stove, they are providing the basic necessities for their children. The parents are committed to maintaining compliance with the Department and Court to keep their family together. They are working and meeting the case plan goals/court orders and are enrolled in individual therapy and Family Preservation. During my work with the family I have identified the following strengths: father is employed, the family has a strong attachment and the parents and children each have social connections and resiliency. The parent’s goals are for the children to remain in their care and home and to spend more family time together. For these reasons, I am advocating for family to have the need identified met. The main reason I am requesting this need to be fulfilled is because the family would benefit from hot cook meals which they all could prepare and enjoy together. The estimated cost of the need/s being requested is $630.00, I have attached a link of the stove that the family picked out that will fit in their space.

This case involves a couple displaced by the Pacific Palisades fire. The male partner, 63 years old, is a self-employed actor with intermittent work, while the female partner, 39 years old, has temporarily relocated to seek stability. Their home was completely destroyed, leaving them without stable housing. The loss has been emotionally and financially overwhelming, and the male partner is currently staying wherever he can find temporary accommodations. As a struggling actor with no current income, he is facing significant challenges in securing stable housing. Since his partner left temporarily, he has been paying out of pocket for shelter. He was able to obtain temporary assistance through 211LA, staying at the Beverly Hills Hilton, where he expressed distress over his situation. Additionally, his vehicle sustained fire damage and is currently in the repair shop, adding to his financial strain. Financial assistance of $1,000 would provide much-needed relief, allowing him to secure temporary housing while he and his partner determine their next steps.
