Story
This is a married couple at the Beverly Hills Hilton, where they were staying through the 211LA/Hilton program. During our Wildfire Care Coordination meeting, the husband was visibly frustrated and skeptical about receiving assistance, repeatedly expressing doubt that any support would be available. His wife, however, was determined to seek help and insisted on staying to explore their options. Before the disaster, they lived in a mortgage-free, three-bedroom, two-bathroom home. While their house was not destroyed, it sustained significant damage, leaving them temporarily homeless. Since January 7, 2025, they have experienced high levels of stress and uncertainty, which has strained their marriage. The wife expressed deep frustration, even mentioning that the situation had made her consider divorce, as her husband’s anger has been affecting their relationship. Their primary need is assistance with replacing lost furniture, which they believe would help them rebuild a sense of normalcy. Providing financial assistance could not only help them recover essential belongings but also restore hope and stability during this challenging time.
