Mother of 4 children in state's custody has earned supervised visitation with her children. However, due to her situation of being homeless and just getting a new job, she is needing gas cards to make it to visitation and her new job.

A mother who her son attempted suicide and due to caring for him while in hospital and after she was unable to pay for her storage. They currently do not have their own place so all their belongings are in storage. The invoice for the storage is 645.20.

Lewis Elementary is a brand new building that just opened January 2025. Prior to opening, students were being taught in learning pods (essentially very nice trailers) and storage space was minimal. Now that we are in our new building, we are trying to build up supplies to provide clothing and hygiene items for students in need. We are currently looking for new underwear and sweatpants for any size that fits an elementary student to meet this need.

This mother is seeking assistance from the community to get her power back on. Moms electric has been shut off on Friday and the family has gone through the weekend with no power or heat. Mom has set up a payment arrangement but needs $309 to get them turned back on to keep the house warm and allow her 4 children to take warm baths. We are hoping to get the power back on before the next winter storm on Wednesday.

Dear Helpers, this is a new case. Youth is placed in a kinship home that agreed to help him in efforts to keep him in his same school. Relative is in need of beds as kiddos are currently sleeping on a air mattress. This will help the provider be able to maintain the youth in the home as she is wanting to go through licensing to assist with financial needs. The relative does not have any furniture currently in the home. We would like to make this placement as comfortable as possible. Parent stated she has fallen behind on bills and is in interviews for jobs that would assist with financial barriers to paying bills moving forward. Parent is a single mother and does not have family support. Parent has shown initiative by negotiating with KC Water to be considered for a payment plan and will be responsible for paying a portion ($688) of her total delinquent bill ($1,377) in order for water to be turned back on. Parent has shown further initiative by seeking community support to pay half of $688 ($344) and is asking Careportal's assistance to pay the additional $344.

A hardworking single mother of two is in urgent need of assistance. She recently gave birth and has been on maternity leave since January, but her income has been reduced to only 30% of her salary. With a newborn and a school aged child to care for, she has fallen behind on rent and utilities, now totaling $1,560. She is determined to provide her children and plans to return to work in three months. However, the financial strain has made it difficult to cover basic necessities. Assistance with rent and utilities will provide much needed stability, ensuring that she and her children can remain in their home during this critical time. We are reaching out to request urgent financial assistance for an older youth in foster care. They are a resilient young person working toward independence. Unfortunately, they recently lost their vehicle due to a predatory towing company, leaving them without transportation to work—an essential part of their journey to stability and self-sufficiency. They have been diligently working to build their future, maintaining employment while actively working toward meeting the requirements necessary for transition out of care. Their job is critical not only for financial security but also for developing the independence they need to succeed. Without a car, they face significant barriers to maintaining their job, attending necessary appointments, and continuing on the path to self-reliance. Their team has been attempting to work with the tow company to lessen or eliminate the fees associated but has been unsuccessful. If this youth needs to pay the associated fees, it will greatly set back her ability to get to work, her savings for college, and her ability to exit from care.

Two children, ages 9 and 11, have been placed with their maternal grandmother while working towards reunifying with their mother. Unfortunately, their mother recently, and unexpectedly, passed away and they do not have a safe parent to reunify with. Grandmother plans to become their legal guardian and has converted an extra living space into 2 bedrooms to better serve them long-term. The family is in need of a dresser for each child, to be able to store their belongings in their new rooms.

Mom lives in a house with 3 kids. She is back to working but does need help paying for this bill. Any amount is appreciated that could help this mom.
