Parent of two Littles on our waiting list has had their water shut off for one week. Parent stated she has fallen behind on bills and is in interviews for jobs that would assist with financial barriers to paying bills moving forward. Parent is a single mother and does not have family support. Parent has shown initiative by negotiating with KC Water to be considered for a payment plan and will be responsible for paying a portion ($688) of her total delinquent bill ($1,377) in order for water to be turned back on. Parent has shown further initiative by seeking community support to pay half of $688 ($344) and is asking Careportal's assistance to pay the additional $344.
