We are requesting support for three siblings: 11 (M) 9 (M) 7 (M), who are currently experiencing their first summer in care. We would like to provide them with a meaningful and enriching summer experience through participation in a week-long local church camp (Lithia, FL), martial arts classes and Bible Study.

This opportunity would give the children a safe and nurturing environment to build friendships, develop new skills, grow spiritually and have fun during the summer months.

Breakdown: Church Camp (a week)

• cost: $60.00 per child

Martial Arts Program:

• Monthly cost of $30.00 per child

Bible Study Yearly Membership:

• Annual fee of $30.00 per child

The caregiver recently got the placement of her young grandson; care giver also has 4 children of her own. She is the sole caregiver and provider for her children with lack of family support. The caregiver recently increased her hours and has been working around the clock to catch up on rent and bills. Despite all the caregiver’s efforts, she was issued final notice for payment of rent. The caregiver and the children will be evicted on Tuesday. We are requesting $500 in order to get the caregiver and her family into a motel while they get all their housing in order.

_The caregiver and her husband are in the process of adopting their granddaughter and are in need of extra assistance for her. The caregiver recently had heart surgery, which limits her mobility while she is recovering. During this recovery and the surgery, the caregiver’s husband has had to assist the caregiver at home, and take care of the child which has caused him to miss work. The caregiver’s husband recently started a new jo which allows for flexibility with the caregiver’s recovery, however they are now behind on rent. The caregivers are committed to caring for their grandchild and want her to have the best opportunities for growth and development. The caregiver’s are requesting assistance with $500.00 to cover their rent for this month. The caregiver’s are already behind and could face eviction if not paid.

When this need is met the caregiver will be able to maintain kinship placement as well as housing.

This family became known to Neighbor to Family through the DCF hotline (Parent in Need of Assistance). The mother is currently pregnant and its high risk. The mother isn’t working currently due to her pregnancy. She has 1 teenaged son and 2 pre-adolescent children and is expecting a baby within the next 2 months. The fathers of the children are not involved, and she is struggling financially. She needs help with a crib for the new baby boy's arrival, as well as onesies. She also needs all clothing (complete wardrobe) and toys for her 5-year-old daughter. She wears size 5T or 6T. Her 11-year-old son needs shirts, socks and underwear and wears size 13 or 14 or size medium. Having these necessary items would take some of the mental and emotional stress off of mom and support her mental health and children's well-being overall.

The children have been living with their grandparents and are very happy now. The kids love playing video games and playing outside with the neighbor kids. The kids do very well in school and get good grades. The children currently do not have a bed and share a blow-up mattress. The grandmother does not have the finances to buy bunk beds for them. Th children risk coming into care if the grandmother cannot get appropriate sleeping arrangements for the children. The children will be residing with the grandmother long-term. The oldest child has started to complain about his back hurting and the mattress is deflating in the middle of the night. When the request is met, the children will have safe sleeping arrangements and will not risk coming back into the foster care system. Their basic needs will be met.

This is a Non-relative Caregiver that has opened her home to help a family friend. She has taken on three children with one of her own children to provide a safe living space so that she can adopt the children. A caregiver is needing assistance with getting transportation donated bunk beds. Due to the caregiver not having a proper vehicle to transport the beds, she will need help with getting the beds from Oldsmar to her home in Riverview. Once assistance is received her 17-year-old nephew will have sufficient sleeping arrangement rather than the current situation which is an air mattress. Assistance with getting a rental moving truck or a volunteer that can help with the transportation is highly appreciated.

The mother was recently reunified with the child. The child is a 13-year female. The child is in need of clothes, the child lost some of her clothes at her previous group home that she was staying at prior to being reunified with her mother. The mother is on a fixed income and struggling to buy clothes for the teenager. The child wears a size Adult Medium in shirts. The child skirt and short size is 13/14 in Juniors. The child wears a size 38D in bras. The child wears a large in juniors for panties. The child would prefer shorts, skirts (above the knee), and shirts. The child has jeans and does not like to wear them. The child is a girly girl and likes traditional girl colors and clothing.

A single foster mom is caring for 6 children, and the kids have been asking to go to Disney this summer. She wants to make it happen but unfortunately it is too expensive to take all six of them for the day. It would cost $1,281.21 for the whole family to go and she has not been able to find any foster parent discounts. Though it is not necessary to take them, she wanted to try and find a way to make it happen to celebrate all of their successes this past year.

A single mother of three is currently facing serious health challenges that arose as a result of complications following the birth of her youngest child. She resides in Florida without any local family support, making it extremely difficult to manage her recovery while caring for her children. Her middle child has severe autism and requires consistent structure and specialized support, particularly during the summer when school is out. She is seeking assistance to cover the cost of a four-week summer camp specifically designed for children with autism. Attending this camp would provide her child with a safe, supportive, and therapeutic environment, while also giving the mother essential time to focus on her health, attend medical appointments, and stabilize her family’s well-being.
