I am reaching out to request help for a foster youth living independently while attending school full-time. Despite their efforts, they have been unable to find a job and are struggling financially. Their mattress needs replacement, but they cannot afford one. We are seeking a donation of a full-size mattress, new or gently used, to improve their quality of life and support their success. A high school student has taken on additional responsibility in supporting her family after mother has undergone some health issues that have left her unable to drive. The student has been taking the bus to the grocery store, work or any other appointments she and her sibling have had. She has been working to earn money to put on her bus card but would greatly benefit from a donation to provide transportation.

This child is in need of a Twin bed frame after their previous one broke. This will help preserve the current placement and provide the child with their needs.

A child is being discharged from a residential placement and placed with fictive kin. In order to ensure safety and follow all safety plans the caregiver is in need of two medication lock boxes. These locks boxes will store medications, sharp objects, and lighters. The caregiver is a single parent to three children and is on a fixed income. Hello, I am requesting a $35 gift card to Target for one of my foster youth(14) that we recently had to emergency remove from her previous placement. This gift card will provide her with a specific hairbrush that works for her hair and one or two products for her hair/hygiene. This is a need because of the recent move. She would really like to have these products before starting at her new school.

I’m reaching out on behalf of an Afghan refugee family in urgent need of a computer. They want to learn English but cannot attend ESL classes due to their schedule. With a computer, they can take online courses, improving their communication, job opportunities, and daily life.

This will also strengthen their relationship with their children, who are already learning English, and contribute to their overall family well-being. A functional computer—new or used—would make a significant difference.

There are 3-4 teen boys living in the same foster home The foster family practices a religion that includes dietary restrictions and the family is vegetarian. The youth are all practicing their own faith that includes a month of fasting, and during that month they do not eat or drink during daylight hours (i.e., at school). These young men are working toward independence and have been learning to prepare food from their culture, and practice safe food handling, preparation, and clean up. They have their own separate living area and have their own mini-fridge and microwave. This request is for a chest freezer for during their month of fasting and going forward, the hope is that they would prepare appropriate healthy and filling food in large batches with support, and freeze it to heat in their microwave. Ac chest freezer could be purchased at CostCo (or a clean and workable used one is also acceptable for under $300, and miscellaneous utensils and storage could also be included with specifics to be shared.

This single parent family consists of a mom, her two young boys and her niece. This family had to move from their 2-bedroom apartment when she took in their niece through foster care. This family was told they needed a 3-bedroom apartment to accommodate 4 people living there. So, they moved out and since then they got a call from the apartment complex saying they have a 3-bedroom apartment ready on March 1st. They need to pay the $1460.00 deposit and the rent to move back in. She has the rent amount but needs help with the $1,460.00 deposit amount.

These relative caregivers are in need of assistance with some therapeutic compression vests for 3 of the 4 grandchildren in their care. These children have high needs as far as regulating emotions and anxiety, and occupational therapy has found that a very helpful tool for them is wearing a compression vest. Because of this it is recommended that the children have their own compression vests at home so they can work on regulating emotions and anxiety at home. We are hoping for assistance in providing these to the family.

There is an 17 year old female who is in need of a wave bus card to get to and from school. This youth is changing placements. This bus pass is needed to ensure she can make it to school and finish out her senior year. This youth attends a special program and is unable to transfer schools. The agency will ensure that this youth is set up with a wave account.

Both parents have worked very hard to have their children come back home. They are in the process of moving for a more appropriate home, however are in need of rent assistance. Both parents are employed, however have recently struggled with paying rent due to court orders and the reunification process. This will continue to be a burden, as a sum of their money should be going to the care of their children. If they could receive some assistance, they would be very grateful.
