Male 5-year-old placed with uncle is in need of a twin bed. Child is happy healthy little boy, thriving and doing well with uncle. Childs uncle is on limited/fixed income and is unable to afford to purchase twin bed for his nephew. Any assistance can offer family with obtaining twin bed and bedding for child would be greatly appreciated.

We have a 74 year old grandmother who is raising her 3 grandchildren, a boy age 16, a girl age 15, and another boy age 13. She has raised these 3 grandchildren for about 8 years when the children's mother brought them to the grandparents home for spring break and never returned to pick them up. The grandmother has legally adopted them, but does not receive any monthly monies or funds from the state to support these kids. She makes about $4200 a month which includes social security and retirement benefits from her and deceased husband accounts. She would like to request 1 set of twin bunk beds for the boys as the current set is old, dilapidated, falling apart , and the boys have outgrown the beds.

2/13/24 spoke with Tim Son and Ernesto Flores regarding bed request. Initial bed request was for 1 twin sized bunk bed to include all linens. Upon further review, the initial bed delivery was declined because of the size of the boys, one being 6'2", the other being overweight and both Tim and Ernest thought that the beds they were to deliver would not support the boys over time. Ernie is in Houston, TX for the weekend and is scouting around for a heavier, sturdier bunk bed to purchase for the boys. He will keep me updated when/if they find something.

This family is composed of a single mom of 4 kids, ages 8,3,1, and 2 months old. She has no transportation and walks to all appointments and with the children. Since she has two young daughters that cannot fully walk for extended period of time within her care, a stroller would be helpful in helping her take the children from one location to the next. It would help her attend appointments within her area safely and with more ease rather than carrying two daughters on her arms while walking with her other children. We are requesting a double stroller for this family.

This single parent family with four children ages one, three, five and ten, needs two 31-day Via Bus passes. Mom does not have a vehicle and uses public transportation for all the family's needs. The family is financially challenged and is unable to purchase these passes. The family is also in need of laundry and home cleaning supplies.

The caregiver is a maternal grandmother to a 1yr old currently placed with her. The caregiver moved from another city to help care for the child to prevent him from being placed in foster care. The caregiver recently started working so is limited with her finances. The caregiver does not qualify for kinship funding and could use the assistance in getting a crib and mattress for the child. The child is currently sleeping in a play pen, which he has outgrown. Securing the crib and mattress would increase the child's comfort and give him a safer place to sleep.

A kinship home is in need of a kitchen table and some chairs. They were previously using patio furniture as a place to eat but the table was old and withered as well as the chairs and now the family no longer has a place for the children to sit and eat. This Aunt went from a family of four to a family of 7. It will be greatly appreciated if the family can obtain the support of the community in providing a comfortable area for the family to have dinner. This will be a great blessing.

A single mother needs assistance to pay for the electricity bill. CPS bills state the electricity will be turned off if payment is not received in 24 hours as it is past due. The bill was due 12/15 for 182.89. The mother has 3 children, ( 7, 4 and 1 year old) one child is special needs and nonverbal.

This parent is in need of a new convertible car seat for her 11-month-old baby girl named. Mom wants a car seat that will grow with her daughter so can have the car seat with her baby as long as possible. This family is struggling financially and is unable to purchase one.

Nephews 1 and 4 y/o's were recently placed with uncle. Uncle is on limited/fixed income and cannot afford to purchase toddler bed for 1 y/o. Kinship payments haven't started yet. 4 y/o already has bed in home, but 1 y/o is in need of toddler bed to be in accordance with safe sleep practices. Any assistance can provide family with obtaining toddler bed would be greatly appreciated.

Mom is a single mother of 4 children. She is in need of a bassinet as she is utilizing a dresser door at the moment to prevent her from co-sleeping. She has been unemployed since the birth of her youngest child and has not received assistance from the father of her children due to him having to return to Mexico. She was asked where she rates her financially stability and she shared 0 because she is not available to purchase clothes or shoes for her kids.

The department is helping her utilize her support system for childcare and she recently had her first job interview on Monday. She will begin work next week. This assistance will relieve some stress, provide child safety, and help until she is able to obtain her first check.
