Story
DCS is involved with two parents who are currently living in their vehicle with no air conditioning, no way to store meals, and no way to warm their meals. Their children are not in their care and they are trying to find employment and housing. These parents do not have supports through their family or friends to help them with their needs or their condition of living. The mother has a lot of medical needs and is not able to work at this time. The father has been trying to find odd jobs to pay for food and gas for their vehicle until he can find steady work. They have a tent, but have not been able to afford to pay the fees to camp at local campsites. The parents would really benefit from receiving a straight talk card to help them be able to access text messages and phone calls so that they can maintain contact with DCS, service providers, potential employers and other resources. The parents would benefit from a cooler and a small mini propane tank when camping to cool and heat up their food. Both parents are only able to reach a once-a-month food bank in their county due to them having car trouble and are unable to make it further into the Evansville area so any assistance with groceries would be welcome. Helping with any of these concerns would be greatly appreciated so that these parents can maintain basic needs until they can find employment and housing and work toward having their children back in their care.
