Two young sisters, ages 3 and 5, were recently sheltered and placed in foster care due to circumstances beyond their control. Bright, energetic, and full of curiosity, they are now adjusting to the many changes that come with entering care. Recently placed with a non-relative caregiver, the girls are being supported by someone who, though not related by blood, has stepped into the role with deep compassion and commitment. The caregiver is working hard to meet their emotional and developmental needs and has seen how much the girls thrive in safe, enriching environments where they can explore, learn, and feel secure. One such place is the local zoo.

A zoo membership would offer more than access to exhibits. It would provide a structured, sensory rich space where the girls can build positive memories, channel their energy, and grow through joyful learning experiences. For the caregiver, it’s a valuable resource that supports both the children’s well-being and the stability of their daily routine. We respectfully ask you to consider supporting this request. A zoo membership would help create lasting, healing experiences for two young girls during a critical time in their lives, offering not just fun, but the chance to feel safe, seen, and supported while they heal.

Dear community, we are reaching out to support a hardworking single mother of four who has recently lost her full-time job cleaning hotel rooms due to a drop in bookings. She is now only working two days a week and actively looking for more work. Her job search has been especially difficult due to her legal status in this country, but despite the challenges, she remains hopeful. She is not currently receiving food stamps or child support, which has made it even harder to stay afloat.

She is now short on rent for July 1st, especially after falling behind on her electricity bill. Our organization is stepping in to help with groceries, and basic needs — and we are also working to help her find additional resources. We are doing everything we can to help her and her children stay in their apartment and avoid eviction.

If you’re able to support with some of the rent, no matter how small, it would make a real difference for this family during this difficult time. Thank you for your compassion and solidarity.
