Single mother currently looking for a job , she is residing in Brooklyn with her daughter child. The mother, who was a teen parent, has experienced significant challenges, including housing insecurity and limited resources for basic needs. The mother, who became a parent as a teenager, is actively seeking employment and has faced significant challenges, including housing insecurity and limited access to essential resources. Despite these obstacles, she remains committed to providing for her family and is currently covering the household's basic needs, including rent, electricity, and food. This family is new to our mentorship program, and we are working to help strengthen their home environment to promote long-term stability and success. To support their well-being and organization, we are requesting the following essential item: One sofa to support the family’s need for comfortable, functional living space. Dear community, we are reaching out to support a hardworking single mother of four who has recently lost her full-time job cleaning hotel rooms due to a drop in bookings. She is now only working two days a week and actively looking for more work. Her job search has been especially difficult due to her legal status in this country, but despite the challenges, she remains hopeful. She is not currently receiving food stamps or child support, which has made it even harder to stay afloat.

She is now short on rent for July 1st, especially after falling behind on her electricity bill. Our organization is stepping in to help with groceries, and basic needs — and we are also working to help her find additional resources. We are doing everything we can to help her and her children stay in their apartment and avoid eviction.

If you’re able to support with some of the rent, no matter how small, it would make a real difference for this family during this difficult time. Thank you for your compassion and solidarity.
