Community Response Team of Family Resource Initiative

A 19-year-old single mother and her 2-year-old daughter have just moved into their first apartment today after experiencing homelessness. While they are excited to start this new chapter, they are in urgent need of essential household items to help make their space feel like home. High on their list are pots and pans, as well as towels and cleaning supplies (dish soap, bathroom cleaner, toilet paper, laundry detergent, lysol, trash bags, body wash, glass cleaner) to help them maintain a safe and comfortable living environment. Any support would mean the world to this young family as they work toward stability and a fresh start.

Single Spanish speaking mother of low economic means is requesting a highchair for her 14-month-old son. Per our organization's policy, we request only new items for our clients.

This is a family with mom and her four children who have had some significant financial struggles that have impacted their family. Mom has had difficulty with work because of the needs of some of the children requiring her to be at the school or involved in other services. This family will greatly benefit from this community support. None of the family members have any allergies or dietary restrictions. Children are 5 years old up to teenagers.

This 17 year old youth has moved back home to a single parent home. He has struggled this last year. He is interested in applying for colleges and creating videos. He needs a desk and chair to help him be productive, make more videos, do homework and plan for his future. He is currently working at a fast food joint and saving all the money he can for a car and any other tools to help him be independent.

The family lost their housing and are currently living in a hotel. They lost many of their items and mom is seeking help with housing, clothing, and food (groceries or Walmart gift cards) for her and her 4 children. Their sizes are below:

2 boys size 6; 1 girl size 2T; 1 girl size 9-12 months; size 5 diapers (I estimated a pack of about 130 at $55 but any amount is great.) Biggest clothing needs are pants, long-sleeve shirts, and socks/underwear.

I also estimated $200 for groceries for a family of 5 but any amount would be helpful.

Mom is a single mom with 3 kids and has fallen behind on her utility bills due to being unemployed for a time. She is employed again but is struggling to catch up due to the rising cost of living. She is seeking any amount of possible financial support and food support for her family.

Client has a 5-year-old with Down Syndrome and is currently pregnant and being induced next month. Ct. is in need of a double stroller to help her transport her 5-year-old and baby on the way. Due to her child's special needs special modifications are necessary on the stroller. Per First Care's policy the stroller must be new.

SPANISH SPEAKING. Parents only speaks Spanish. There is one child, age 3 months old (female). This family immigrated to the US about 6 months ago and they are in need of a dresser (longer in width vs taller) and a stroller for the baby in order to go shopping and for walks at the mall. Mother needs one that can lay down for comfort and appropriate for a baby, for example: compatible with Graco car seat, similiar to Jeep TurboGlyde Reversible Handle Stroller.

This mother just got a promotion at her work and a new apartment for her and her boys. She is in the process of working a case plan and working on reunification. She is a kind and hard working individual who needs additional assistance to make her apartment a home for her and her children.

This family has two children in elementary school and two adults in the home. The family just recently secured housing during winter break. The family switched schools and the previous social worker was able to get some beds for the family, however, they are still in need of one more queen bed, mattress, and box spring.

My client is a single mom who is working on reunifying with her two boys, ages 10 & 12. She moved to Minnesota from Michigan approximately 11 months ago. My client finally obtained safe and stable independent housing for her and her children. She has a full time job and was recently promoted to a manager position. The items she is in need of are a new queen size bed, two new twin sized beds. dressers that are gently used, dishes that are new or gently used and new or gently used silverware. Any assistance with any of these items would be helpful for this family to have a fresh start!

The 15-year-old youth is living with her adult brother, sister-in-law and their infant child. The youth ran away from her mother's house over a year ago and will not return. She has finally found a permanent home with her adult brother. She plans on remaining with her brother until she is 18. He and his wife provide for her everyday needs- food, clothing and everything that she needs. The youth has been sleeping on an air mattress and the family does not have enough funds to set up a proper bedroom for her. She has her own room and is in need of basic items to fill the room and make it a more comfortable home for her.
