CDSS is working with a family that entered the United States in 2023 in hopes of seeking asylum. They have been living in a hotel for a little over a year. They recently secured housing and are in need of beds for their 4 and 6 year old girls. Dad is currently working but is utilizing all funding to secure the apartment. CDSS has a case with a single mother of four who is in need of assistance with some furniture. Her apartment has no dining table, no couches, no beds, or any other furnishings.

Single mother of one daughter is in need of clothing for child. Mom is working but employer recently reduced her hours and she is struggling to make ends meet. Girl size 7 ...would live spring clothing for warmer days, shorts and tee shirts. May be used or new.

A single mom with a four-year-old and who is expecting her second baby (delivery will occur on 2/18/25), is in need of a small couch for her apartment. This parent moved into her current housing with very little, and has slowly been purchasing furniture and household items. There are insufficient funds remaining for significant household item expenses after the parent covers her family's basic needs. The request is for a small couch or loveseat, not exceeding approximately 8 feet in length. The parent does not have a style preferences and a gently used couch would suffice if funding is not available to purchase a new couch at a reasonable price. There is currently no comfortable seating in the apartment and a couch will provide a safe space to feed and spend time with her baby and 4-year-old. Thank you for considering this request!

The child is currently in the care of their grandfather who was granted custody following some safety concerns regarding the child's father. We are requesting sensory items for the child, clothing for the child, and cleaning supplies for the home. The child is on the Autism Spectrum and often has difficulty sleeping, which greatly impacts his school attendance. It has been observed by workers that the child enjoys being enclosed, often preferring to sleep curled up in a chair as opposed to his bed. So, we are requesting funding for a sensory compression blanket and a sensory den in hopes that it will assist the child in getting a full nights sleep, so he will be well rested to attend school daily and on time. Workers and school staff have also observed that the child is often wearing clothing that is too small for him. So, we are requesting some new clothing for him as well. The grandfather told workers that the child is very particular about clothing, so it may be best to reach out to the family to inquire about sizing and what clothes he would like to wear. Additionally, the condition of the home has been an ongoing concern since the start of this case, so we are requesting some cleaning solution the family can use to maintain household cleanliness. The family specifically requested Mr. Clean Multi-Purpose cleaner, but anything similar will work.

Young Mom of three small children could use some support. She has a newborn and another child with special needs, a double stroller would help significantly with daily tasks, outings, and medical appointments.

Our agency is working to support a single mother towards reunification with her 5-year-old son. She is also pregnant with a baby girl, due in March 2025. The mother is working diligently to prepare to parent both children within the next few months. This request is for a double stroller or wagon suitable for a 5-year-old child and an infant. This mother does not have regular private transportation and will need a safe and sustainable way to travel with her two young children to bus stops, preschool, grocery stores, and other important destinations. Fulfilling this request will help the mother and family maintain self-sufficiency and safety when they are reunified!

A family of 5 got into a car accident while it was snowing recently. The family only has one car for the household. So, it has been very difficult for the family to go to the necessary doctor/dental appointments as well as work due to the car's damage. The damage of the car is $1,000, but the father is able to pay for half of the damage, $500. Anything will help in supporting getting this family back on the road.
