Help Strengthen a Bio Family
A devoted single mother of two was recently hospitalized after suffering a severe heat stroke and is now in a rehabilitation center learning to walk again. This medical emergency has kept her out of work for an extended period, making it difficult to provide for her family. Despite the hardship, she remains strong and focused on her recovery. She is also a full-time student at Riverside City College, pursuing a degree in psychology, and any support with groceries during this time would be a tremendous help to her and her daughters.

Help Preserve a Kinship Placement
I have a family that is in great need of 1 chrome book (laptop) for minor under their care at this time due to the school not having any laptops to rent out to minor. The child, and his four siblings reside with the maternal aunt and uncle. The child is in need of the laptop to complete their homework at home. Since the children have been placed with this aunt/uncle, service providers and school personnel have noted the positive changes in the children’s academic and mental health progress. The family is continuing to adjust to the financial responsibility of the five children plus their 2 biological daughters who also live in the home. The laptop would help the minor with academic success.

Help Strengthen a Bio Family
A single mother to a 10-year old son currently facing financial and personal hardship. The mother is unemployed at this time to prioritize her mental health and work through ongoing recovery from substance abuse. She is proud to share that she has receiving her pin for achieving her 1 year of sobriety the beginning of this month. Recently, an unexpected issue occurred when her son's mattress was infested with bed bugs. To prevent further infestation throughout their unit, she immediately disposed of the mattress. Unfortunately, she is not in a financial position to replace the bed on her own at this time. She is kindly asking for assistance in the form of donated box spring and mattress for her son. She is open to either a twin or full sized mattress/bed frame, whichever is available first.

Help Strengthen a Bio Family
Hello, I am working with a mother of a 10 and 14 year old, who has finally after many years of abuse fled a bad domestic violence relationship. She entered a DV shelter over a year ago where she was reunified with her two girls and has remained strong in her commitment to protect and provide for her children. Since leaving the shelter a few months ago, She obtained employment and was able to secure a small studio apartment for she and her girls. She has worked hard to furnish the home, but with the heat of summer approaching and having some medical conditions, there is no A/C in the home for them. She wanted to see if someone has access to a small window air conditioner, New or used will work. Her studio apartment is small so one unit will cool the home. I was able to do a little research and looks like there are units from $150 to $250 on sites like Amazon, Lowe’s or Home Depot. Thank you for your time in reviewing this request to assist this family.

The participant and her family consist of parents and their 13 year old daughter. The family recently moved into their new unit and have been sleeping on the floor or on the couch of their apartment. They are are only receiving $650 in cash aid and her husband had to leave his job he had due to the move. The husband recently returned to school to achieve his GED and has been doing great and staying on task and focused, and has just started applying for jobs at nearby grocery stores. We would like to support this family's progress by assisting them in obtaining a bed for the daughter and a bed for the parents, with bed frames.

Help Reunify a Bio Family
I have been working with the parents of a baby who was born on 8/13/24 (almost 2 years old now). At the time of the baby's birth, they were struggling with substance abuse. Court denied reunification services, but the parents were determined to do whatever was necessary to prove that they could take the necessary steps to be able to parent their baby. On their own, they both (separately) completed extensive inpatient treatment programs, and then continued participating in outpatient services. They visited the baby regularly. In late 2024 they petitioned the court and were granted reunification services. Since then, they have maintained their sobriety, secured employment, and, most recently housing. Yesterday, they moved into a 2-bedroom apartment. At the upcoming hearing on 7/2/25, it is anticipated that the toddler will be returned to their care. The parents have everything they need for the child, as that has been their priority. Other than that, they have very little for their new home. They are confident that they will be able to eventually furnish the place and purchase what they need. I asked what the most important needs were right now. They would love a stove and a couch.
These parents have worked so hard, never given up; I have seen such a huge change in them. I'm very proud of all they have overcome and accomplished. I'd really like to help as they start their new life.
Thank you in advance.

Help Strengthen a Bio Family
Single father caring for two children who is struggling financially specifically with rent, and gas money. Father is working two jobs but it's still having a hard time making ends meet. The additional driving to and from both jobs and transporting the children to school and daycare is adding more financial strains. Hence the need for assistance for gas money. One of the children has medical issues making public transportation detrimental to her health. Her exposure to the public should be limited. The family is at risk of losing their housing due to FA not being able to cover his bills. Father has been using money that would usually go to the rent to pay for the children's necessities. The department is helping with beds and desk for the children. This one time assistance will help the father maintain his household financially. As mentioned earlier, FA is employed ( two jobs). This family has a lot of needs and any assistance to assist this family to maintain their home is greatly appreciated.

Help Preserve a Foster Care Placement
An RFA caretaker for a three-year-old with special needs is struggling to afford childcare and has put her behind on her bills. In fact, her updated RFA funding has been delayed due to circumstances outside her control and has left her with very little funding and she is not getting the help she needs. As a result, last week she had to take off work because she could not afford a babysitter so now she is losing any income and may need to take off work this weekend as well. If we could temporarily assist her in paying her utility bills, this will allow her to take care of these extra childcare costs until she gets the proper funding from RFA. This would be a huge help to this single-parent family and she is grateful for any support she can get.

Help Remove an Educational Barrier for a Child
A resilient young woman in foster care made the brave decision not to return to her abusive mother and stepfather. In her current placement, she brought up her grades, built a plan for her future, and found a lifelong family. Now, she’s moving into her own place through a Transitional Housing Program (THP), having been selected over 25 other applicants.
Because her placement was in a small town with no job opportunities, she wasn’t able to save money and still needs help securing a few basic necessities - bedding, silverware and knife set. She’ll also be starting college soon and is in need of a laptop to complete her schoolwork, apply for jobs, and build her independence.
This young woman has done everything right—she’s worked hard, stayed focused, and created a future she can be proud of. A little support right now could make all the difference in helping her begin this next chapter with confidence, dignity, and the tools she needs to succeed.
Thank you for considering this request.
I have attached links for the needed items. Laptop does not have to be the linked one but something similar.

Help Strengthen a Bio Family
I am reaching out on behalf of a mother and her two young children, ages 2 and 4, who are in need of your support.
After spending a significant amount of time residing in a shelter for their safety and protection, this resilient family has recently secured permanent housing. This new chapter brings immense hope, stability, and the opportunity to build a safe and nurturing home—but they need our help to truly make it feel like home.
At this time, the family is in need of a twin trundle bed with two mattresses for the children. Providing proper sleeping arrangements is not simply a matter of comfort—it is essential for the children’s physical health, emotional security, and overall development. A bed offers more than just a place to sleep; it represents stability, routine, and safety. It helps reduce the risk of accidents and health issues, promotes healthy sleep patterns, and creates a secure space where the children can feel safe and cared for.
Your support will not only furnish a home—it will provide a sense of normalcy, dignity, and care that every child deserves. By helping this family with beds, you are investing in the well-being and future of two young children and supporting a mother who is doing everything in her power to create a safe, loving home.

Help Improve a Child's Wellbeing
The client is a 14-year-old female who was removed from her parents at the age of 9, due to neglect (substance abuse/domestic violence) by the mother and her significant other. Child’s bio-father passed away when she was 3. The child was placed in a stable foster home where she remains to date. Mother’s reunification svcs have been terminated; the child is likely to remain in foster care as she does not wish to be adopted or placed in legal guardianship.
The foster parents report the child is a pleasure to have in their home – she is respectful and listens well. The child recently completed 7th grade and admitted she spends much of her time alone in her room. To address/mitigate isolative behaviors, we investigated her interests. This child is quite amazing and is talented in the arts. She enjoys reading, drawing, and is interested in learning to play the flute and violin. Respectfully, we would like to request the following:
- Art Supplies – graphite pencils, sketchbooks, or a gift card to Target, Walmart, or an arts supply store so she can purchase art supplies.
- Gift card to a bookstore such as Barnes and Noble to buy books for summer reading.
- Donation of a gently used flute and/or violin so she can join the school band or take music lessons. Thank you for your consideration in assisting with the requested items. Obtaining these items will help prevent isolative behaviors, increase social integration and self-confidence, and develop her artistic skills.

Help Improve a Child's Safety/Wellbeing
I am reaching out with a heartfelt request on behalf of a single mother in our community who is currently facing significant financial hardship while raising her five children. As you can imagine, balancing the responsibilities of providing food, transportation, and other daily essentials for a large family can be overwhelming—especially with limited resources.
We are seeking sponsorship in the form of gift cards for groceries and gas, which would provide immediate relief and support to help meet her family’s basic needs. Grocery store and gas station gift cards, even in small denominations, can make a meaningful difference.
