Grandfather needs a gas gift card to travel from CO Springs to Littleton weekly to bring child for sibling visitation and visitation with his mom. Grandfather is out of work currently and he has a lot on his plate helping out and this would greatly help. He would be appreciative of this kind gift.

Each year, Arapahoe County Human Services brings the spirit of the holiday season to life through our Partnering for the Holidays gift shop—a one-day event where Human Services clients can shop for holiday gifts for every member of their household, completely free of charge. From newborns to seniors, we serve more than 800 individuals in need.

For the past several years, Journey Church (formerly Elevate Christian Church) generously hosted this event. However, with the closure of their Aurora location, we are now in urgent need of a new partner.

We are seeking a community-minded ministry with an indoor space large enough to host this impactful event in December, located within Arapahoe County and accessible via public transportation.

1 year old twins (boy and girl) are working towards return home with single father who already has a two-year-old in his care. Father recently moved into a bigger place and has been getting things ready for the twins to return home and is needing help with getting two highchairs and one additional walker for the twins.

Youth who is in residential facility recently graduated and earned their GED at the age of 17 is needing a gift card for clothes as she starts her first job and continues to work on herself and personal growth.

A youth is placed currently in a residential facility and is in need of a clothes as he some of his stuff went missing at his last placement and he is in need of new clothes to replace what was lost.

A dedicated grandmother stepped up to care for her two young granddaughters when they needed her most. What was expected to be a temporary arrangement has now become a permanent placement—and she’s embraced this role with love, patience, and unwavering commitment.

To provide the best possible care, the kinship provider took time off work to focus fully on the girls’ needs. Now that the case plan is clear, she’s ready to return to work and has found a promising job opportunity. The only remaining barrier is a $70 certification: QMAP (Qualified Medication Administration Person), which is also a valuable asset in supporting one of the girls, who has special needs.

She hasn’t asked for any other support throughout this case, and this one-time help would go a long way. Your contribution would directly support a caregiver who has shown extraordinary dedication—and help her move forward with stability and strength.

I have an open case with two little girls 1yr and 2yr old. The case has been open for some time and we recently found a family member in California that is coming the week of June 22 - July 4th. The girls will be moving with this maternal great aunt on July 3rd. The transition is sudden and quick. Urgent items that the Kin will need are car seats for the girls. Kin will be driving and will need car seats as soon as possible. The children are in need of 2 twin beds (which could be sent to her address/home). As well as clothing items for the girls if possible. Anything will help, looked on Amazon and looked for average prices or items that were frugal, anything you chose will be appreciated, thank you.

A youth has been requesting driver’s education for at least six months. It has been hard to find resources for which she would qualify, but the family’s social worker discovered the DriveSafe be.Driving 30-hour online program. The basic package (30 hours of online self-paced driver’s ed and the written exam, enough for the youth to obtain her permit) is $109. This would be hugely beneficial in empowering this youth, providing safe instruction, and ensuring that she can move forward toward independence.

A local family recently lost all of their furniture due to a severe bed bug infestation. To protect their health, they made the difficult decision to throw everything out—and have been working tirelessly to clean and restore their home. They’ve already secured two twin mattresses for their children, but the beds are still on the floor.

We’re hoping to find two twin bed frames to help them continue rebuilding. A simple bed frame offers more than support—it means safety, better sleep, and a sense of normalcy.

This family has taken every step to protect their children and move forward. With your help, they can keep building a stable, healthy home.

This family is needing a locked box for their childs medication to ensure he does not access them without parental knowledge. The child has severe mental health needs and the locked box would ensure his safety.

We are working with a single father. He is currently experiencing a financial hardship which has made it difficult for him to afford transportation. At present, he is walking to work but was recently assaulted during his commute, causing him to miss a week of work. Alejandro is actively working on reinstating his driver’s license, with a DMV appointment scheduled for August 4th, 2025.

Until then, his only means of commuting are walking and public transportation; however, he is no longer able to afford a bus pass. This ongoing stress has negatively impacted his mental health, and he has been referred to Ellie Mental Health for therapy support.

Providing Alejandro with a bus pass for July would significantly alleviate some of his burdens, help ensure his continued employment, and foster trust and a stronger relationship with our agency.
