We are currently working with a 15-year-old boy and his mother who, in the past few months, have experienced many changes within their living environment. This family was referred to us through the Office of Refugee Resettlement since the child was an unaccompanied minor that was recently reunified with his mom. The mom's previous partner was their main financial source, but they are no longer together due to his emotional abusive behavior toward her and her teenage son. The mom has shown resilience and perseverance throughout this process and is now working full-time. She is making just enough to rent out a room in an apartment, but is not yet making enough to rent the entire apartment on her own. The child and mother are currently sharing a queen-sized bed since the mom cannot currently afford to purchase an additional bed for her son. However, they have both expressed a desire for the teenage boy to have his own bed, especially as he continues to grow as a teenager. Your collaboration in serving this family would be so impactful, especially considering all the challenges and pain they have been through! Thank you in advance for your consideration and support!

Client is working and is the sole provider for his infant, two teen daughters, and wife. They are rebuilding from the furniture they lost in last year's storm. Client is in need of a crib for their son. Client shared that they are co-sleeping but for safety purposes they would like their son to have his own crib.

My client is a young lady who was sexually assaulted by a friend of hers she was staying with. Her mother does not help her and all of her identifying information was left at the home of her assault. The perpetrator will not allow her to obtain her belongings. My client needs help obtaining her Texas ID, a new birth certificate, and a social security card. If you could please help her and pray for her that would be beneficial to her son because then she could get a job and start caring for him. The child's father is incarcerated.

Recently, the family received assistance in securing an apartment. However, the mother is currently unemployed and unable to afford permanent beds for herself and her children. A grandmother on my caseload had an awful scamming experience and someone stole $621 worth of food stamps off her food stamp card. She called to report this and they told her it's called skimming and that they are no longer able to replce any food stamps due to fraud or stolen benefits. The caregiver is out of work at this time and is not receiving any kinship benefits. She has reached out to some food banks, but is in need of asssitance with getting food for her and the grandchild and her biological child in the home. Any help would be appreacited. I wanted to see about requesting a e-gift card to HEB so we can get it her quicker for her to get food before the weekend.

The mother is a single parent of four children. No fathers are involved. The current bunk bed used by the two oldest children is in poor condition and is falling apart. Receiving new beds will provide a safe and stable sleeping arrangement alleviating the mother's concerns about the current bed's safety. The children are males ages 6 and 8.

The family consists of a grandmother, mother, and 2 children (12 and 9), living in a single-story home consisting of 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. The grandmother has been sick and also recently was in a car crash that caused further health problems. The mother works a lot. The family has become overwhelmed with cleaning the home and getting rid of trash, boxes, and organization, and assistance is needed in getting the home cleaned and to a level which is maintainable. There is trash, boxes, and clothing throughout the home. There are no indications of pest or rodent infestations.

Youth is 16 and placed in a hotel for CWOP. Youth has been accepted into a residential treatment facility and has been hesitant to go. Youth has finally decided he will go, but insists on having a fan and some rechargable batteries to go along with it before he will go. Youth has a lower IQ and this is a breaking point for him. The facility will not allow a fan that plugs into the wall. If this request can be met, it will get the youth out of the hotel and into a placement to help him get treatment! Youth has had very good behavior while in the hotel and this could be a huge possibility for him. Thank you in advance!
