A dedicated kinship caregiver and her 12-year-old niece are in need of utility assistance. The family has fallen behind and could use some help catching up to ensure they can cover their expenses moving forward. They owe $241 to Centerpoint and $472 to AES. The caregiver explained that if she could receive help with these overdue bills, it will take a huge weight off her shoulders, and she would be able to cover the balance moving forward. Thank you!

Grandma and her 4-year-old grandson's window AC unit just broke, and given the intense heatwave we are experiencing, the family is in desperate need of a new unit. Grandma's funds must go toward rent, food, etc., therefore, they need help paying for a new unit. If possible two units would make a huge difference for this family and allow them to live comfortably this summer. thank you!

We saw a client who is a single - part time working mom, who trying to provide for herself and two children. There had been a change in relationship with FOB and he is no longer helping at this time financially. She has a young baby and a 4 year old with autism. She is struggling with making ends meet regarding care payment and rent. She can not loose the car, due to it's in her name and she is making more payments on that, before paying rent and utlitlies, but things are falling behind. We did give her numbers in regards to assitance for utilities. She also is feeling anxious in regards to her son who is very delayed due to his diagnosis of autism. She needs to only work part time due to getting him in the care that he needs with therapy. Christine is a very sweet young lady, who for the first time during her visit, felt like she was at a point of struggle. She allowed me to pray with her and we talked about getting connected with an area church and she did take a devotional and a bible. She is asking for some help with rent (1 time). Her rent is $800.00.

A family in need of various items. 5 children were displaced from their home and placed with grandparents. The grandparents are in need of a bunk bed. There is also a newborn child is also in need of various help with blankets and other essential items. The grandparents are doing their best to help provide for all 5 children and also having custody of their other 2 grandchildren. Due to the unforeseen placement they need help with this bed to allow room for all 7 children. In order for these children to remain with their grandparents they will need appropriate beds. There is also a 6 year old non-verbal autistic child they is in need of a communication tablet that would help with his speech and communication with his needs. The agency is providing diapers and formula monthly to the family in this time of need to help support. The parents are in an inpatient treatment to be able to provide a safe and sober life for their children. Any help for this family would be greatly appreciated and the family thanks you in advance. We want these siblings to remain together in a loving safe home with their grandparents.

Mother is a single mom of three boys. Mom works full time. Due to the mental health and behavioral needs of one of her sons, she was let go from her previous place of employment. Mom has recently obtained a new job and is engaging in services to help support herself and her children. Mom is in need of financial help to pay next month's rent to get back on track with her finances and to sustain the family's home. This assistance will help prevent another barrier to the family.

Mom is in need of $590 to cover the remainder of rent for this month

This is a family of 4. Mother is single and has a single income to meet the needs of the children. SW went out to the home to complete a walkthrough and found missing pieces of drywall in the children's rooms. One of the rooms has an outlet that is exposed with insulation that is a safety concern. Mother is need of assistance for repairs to the drywall and is not aware of how to fix this on her own and cannot afford to hire someone to help.

Single mother of three children. Mother lives in a trailer that she recently purchased. Mother works full time as a nurse aide at a nursing home. Mother needs assistance with the purchase and installation of a water heater. Currently the family is going to the neighbors home to take hot showers, boiling water on the stove to do dishes, and going to the neighbors to wash some of their clothing.

I am currently working with a teenage girl who was removed from her home and placed with her cousin. The child is in need of a queen bed and a mattress. She is currently sleeping on an air mattress.

A mother of three children in need of assistance with utilities with Electric and Gas. The mother states that the lease is in her name, however, the utilities are not. Unfortunately, the utilities are in the name of a person who recently moved out of the home. Utilities will be shut off the beginning of June. Mother reported that she just recently started her job this week. Any assistance that you may be able to give this family would be greatly appreciated.

Client is asking if possible some one can assist with $280 so that electric will not be shut off tomorrow.

Our Care Coordinator presented this request after meeting with her client. She stated that this single mom of 4 is need of a crib for her baby girl who is 2 months old. She is not working currently, but is trying to find a job and maintain. Her daughter is growing out of basinett and stated that this was a major need for her. (Crib and matress)

Mom who was using substances has been working to maintain sobriety. She went into inpatient treatment and completed programming there. She has now returned to Springfield. She began by living with a cousin. She had her youngest child with her (2-year-old son). Since returning she is doing intensive outpatient treatment. She obtained employment at the hospital, and is working toward self-sufficiency. Her ex-husband had their 3 daughters but she is now able to have them home with her. She had to pay a deposit and 1st month's rent. She needs an electric stove, refrigerator, and sofa. They do not have to be new, she is fine with used. She has borrowed a tiny fridge and has a crock pot and 2 burner cook top. A stove, fridge, and sofa would be very helpful for her to begin her new life with her children. AGAIN- These can be used appliances and sofa. Thank you!
