One of my youth is off to fight for our country! He is set up to join the military upon graduation from high school in May 2025 and has one simple request, a Macbook laptop. While this youth has asked for very little from the foster care system (not even this request), he has made comments about his desire for a Macbook laptop in order to Skype with his positive family support and continue his hobby of mixing music. He is open to a refurbished one from Amazon or a donation of someones gently used Macbook (preferably not older than 2022). My hope is pool any monetary donations along with some funding from KVC and get him a really good graduation present as he has worked so hard and come SO FAR!

We are reaching out with an urgent request to support a mother and her child who are facing a challenging time. Despite her best efforts to secure rent for previous months, she is unable to cover the rent for March. This mother has very limited to no family or social supports to turn to and no alternative place to stay. She is actively seeking low-income housing and is currently on a waitlist for Section 8 assistance. The requested amount of $800 will help her pay the rent for March, preventing any outstanding amount from accumulating and ensuring she and her child can remain in their current home until they can move into low-income housing.

A resilient birth family recently welcomed a new baby in early February. Throughout the pregnancy, the birth mother was unable to work as she focused on completing a program designed to support her and her family. Currently, six of the children are placed outside the home, while the newest baby remains in the parents’ care. Our team is working closely with the family to ensure safety, stability, and healthy relationships for all their children.

Despite their dedication and progress, the family is facing a financial hurdle in covering a final outstanding utility bill. They have recently caught up on rent and other utility expenses, but this last bill is preventing them from fully catching up after the birth, with a disconnect notice. Your support would provide much-needed relief and allow them to continue building a strong foundation for their family’s future. CASA is requesting rental assistance for our CASA teen who is placed with his older brother. The brother is not in care. This CASA teen has bounced around to over 7 different foster homes while waiting for his older brother to obtain housing. The brother was experiencing homelessness throughout the time this CASA teen was in care. The brother recently obtained an apartment and took placement of his younger brother to relieve him of being in a foster home. The brothers are thrilled to finally be reunited, however, they are experiencing financial hardships and struggling to pay this months rent. CASA is requesting rental assistance of $1300 (any contributions would assist this family). It is CASA's hope that the brother can demonstrate stability so he can obtain guardianship of our CASA teen. Thank you for considering!

A family of eight urgently needs assistance with their past rent payments to avoid eviction within the next five days.

I have an 18 year old female who is going to be getting senior pictures taken! She is on track to graduate and has already found someone who is willing to give her and her placement (her adult brother) a deal on pictures. My youth reported she really REALLY wished she was able to buy a couple of new outfits for her senior pictures. I would love to help her out with this. To persuade you to be the one to help me, this young adult is absolutely deserving of something good coming her way. She has not asked for hardly anything from me, ever. Almost everything she owns is second hand or was something she saved for and bought with her own money. She is not currently able to work as transportation is a struggle for herself and her brother is working two jobs to make ends meet so he doesn't have a lot of time to get her to and from work. Almost everything she has accomplished, she has done with her own determination and discipline. There is nothing I would love more than to show her that hard work pays off!

Teenage girl currently is getting braces care. Initially, her biological parents signed the payment agreement before the teenager came into foster care. Biological parents are of low-socioeconomic status and struggle with addiction. Biological parents have not made any payments on the teenagers braces account in several months, therefore, she is not allowed to attend any of her appointments. Removing the braces would cost an additional $200 on top of the remaining balance on the teenagers account. These braces were very life changing towards the teenagers confidence level.

This mother is seeking assistance from the community to get her power back on. Moms electric has been shut off on Friday and the family has gone through the weekend with no power or heat. Mom has set up a payment arrangement but needs $309 to get them turned back on to keep the house warm and allow her 4 children to take warm baths. We are hoping to get the power back on before the next winter storm on Wednesday.

This single mother of two teenage boys has been working hard as a the owner of a successful auto reconditioning business over the past few years.  Her sons have been learning the business and working alongside her growing the business.  However, the last several months business has slowed down to the point that she has had to start applying for jobs.  She finally received an offer last week and starts this upcoming Tuesday.  However, she is already 2 months behind on her rent and fearful she will get evicted if she cannot get caught up by the end of February.  She and her boys have lived in this home for 7 years and she does not want to have to relocate while they are still in school.  Once she starts receiving a steady paycheck she believes she will be able to handle the rent again, but getting caught up is where she is really needing help.  Her monthly rent is $1660, but the amount needed to get caught up is $2860.

A mom with four children needs urgent help/assistance. Her life turned upside down during Covid when her spouse of 18 years lost his life due to the pandemic. She is now a widow trying to pick pieces up. Her income drastically changed because she lost her job 6 months after her husband passing and all at once went from a 3 home income to a 1 home income, while the bills have remained the same. She is on social security and just needs a helping hand to get her bills under control. Her current utility bill is $3,878.26 and all she needs is $300 to stand on. As stated by mom "I've been working hard to climb out of this hole and it has been a struggle but I'm still pushing through". Thank you for all the support and contribution.
