Anchor of Hope

The child is currently under thee care of her grandmother. After months of efforts, grandma and the child were able to get a two-bedroom apartment. Unfortunately, during the move, the furniture and other items became un-useable. Grandma is on a fixed income. Grandma is requesting support from the community to get the essential items so that their new home is livable.

Working with a bio mom who has recently had children returned to the apartment they live in. She is a single mom who lost her job and has no furniture expect beds and a small coffee table. In need some good condition used furniture items for their apartment. They are happy with donated used items. These items don't have to be purchased. She will be truly grateful for any support!

This is a family that consists of 3 adults, one of which has Cerebral Palsy, and 3 children including a 3-month-old baby. The family recently relocated to Colorado from Miami, Florida. They currently reside in a single-family home that the grandmother has been able to mostly furnish through furniture found at secondhand stores. They are in the process of getting benefits like WIC, TANF, Medicaid and SNAP, but have not yet been approved for any of these resources in Colorado due to long wait times and wait-lists and are currently struggling financially. The grandmother/mother is unable to be employed full time because of the round the clock care she has to provide for her disabled adult son, in addition to helping her daughter with her 3-month-old grandchild. Grandmother/mom requested a table and chairs so the family can have a place to eat meals together in addition to providing a place for the two older children to be able to work on their homework.

Just last night (2/6/23), this family of six lost everything in a house fire. They are in need of everything to start rebuilding a safe home for the children. They need to fill all rooms where they are moving to including the bedrooms, bathroom, kitchen, and living space. This request is for a single mother of two toddler girls, who just moved back to Colorado in May. The mother is still looking for part time work and has placed her daughters back in school. Mom has also started culinary school as a part of a program where she is living so she can get a good paying job to support her children. She still has to pay for after school daycare for her 7-year-old. This is still creating a huge financial obligation for her. She has applied for C-Cap but there is a waiting list. She is trying her best to get on her feet as she has recently left an abusive relationship and is coming out of two different transition and crisis centers. She could really use some help to get stability for her family. She is needing help with daycare, her car payments and insurance so she can stay mobile for the girls and herself to get to school and work in the future. We removed the request for all of the kitchen stuff, because she is in community housing that provides meals, and she does not have the room to store things. We also removed the bed and bedding request, because the housing is providing that for her and the girls while they stay there. No longer need the rental assistance since they are assisting her with that as well while she is in the program.
