This request is on behalf of a resilient and loving kinship caregiver a grandmother who has held legal guardianship of her three grandchildren since 2021. She stepped up selflessly when the children's biological parents could no longer care for them due to neglect. Recently, her family experienced an unexpected hardship: a house fire caused by an electrical malfunction, which left their home and belongings significantly damaged. While no one was physically harmed, the emotional and financial toll has been substantial. Currently, the caregiver and children are temporarily staying with her elderly mother. However, her mother is in the process of selling the home, which means the family must relocate again. The grandmother has secured a new rental and paid a sizable security deposit, and she is scheduled to move into the home.

Young adult trying to obtain her drivers license. She did save and was able to get 4 driving instructions. However, since she doesn't have relatives to practice driving outside of the lessons she feels she needs more. Single mother of 2 who is need of fresh foods. Cal Fresh has cut funding and with kids not in school food programs for the summer is struggling with fresh produce for kids.

Transitional age youth , who just graduated community college with a 4.0 and off to Northridge this fall. Youth has taught herself Canva and does alot of social media work for small organizations as income. Her computer has died and needs help with purchasing a new one. She is asking for help with gift cards to Best Buy, she can not afford a new one however, was hoping to purchase something refurbished.

An RFA caretaker for a three-year-old with special needs is struggling to afford childcare and has put her behind on her bills. In fact, her updated RFA funding has been delayed due to circumstances outside her control and has left her with very little funding and she is not getting the help she needs. As a result, last week she had to take off work because she could not afford a babysitter so now she is losing any income and may need to take off work this weekend as well. If we could temporarily assist her in paying her utility bills, this will allow her to take care of these extra childcare costs until she gets the proper funding from RFA. This would be a huge help to this single-parent family and she is grateful for any support she can get.

A resilient young woman in foster care made the brave decision not to return to her abusive mother and stepfather. In her current placement, she brought up her grades, built a plan for her future, and found a lifelong family. Now, she’s moving into her own place through a Transitional Housing Program (THP), having been selected over 25 other applicants.

Because her placement was in a small town with no job opportunities, she wasn’t able to save money and still needs help securing a few basic necessities - bedding, silverware and knife set. She’ll also be starting college soon and is in need of a laptop to complete her schoolwork, apply for jobs, and build her independence.

This young woman has done everything right—she’s worked hard, stayed focused, and created a future she can be proud of. A little support right now could make all the difference in helping her begin this next chapter with confidence, dignity, and the tools she needs to succeed.

My client is currently 20 years old and will age out in December. He is currently having a hard time getting furniture for his place. He is in need of a pull out couch to sleep on as his current bed is too small. He doesn't have a lot of other support systems and has been working really hard in the NMD program to become self-sufficient.

Single mother and her children who have survived a drastic move into a new and safe place are in need of beds. Mother is struggling financially at this time. Assisting with this request will empower and encourage the family to continue moving forward, keep them together and feel supported by the community and outside agencies, bringing them hope.
