Stabilize Housing Insecurity
Referred by TCR: A soon-to-be mother, lost everything in a recent fire in Altadena, including all of her belongings, baby items from her shower, furniture, and a crib. She was displaced and initially stayed at a convention center but was denied reentry upon return. She was referred to a local shelter but was removed from the program after missing days due to hospitalization, leaving her without stable housing. Currently, she is temporarily staying at a Days Inn in Monrovia for five days, supported by My Tribe Rise. Before the fire, she worked as an assistant manager at Dollar King, which also burned down, leaving her without a source of income. She is actively searching for work and stable housing, with Red Cross potentially covering her first and last month’s rent once she secures an apartment. However, she urgently needs basic furniture, a crib, baby essentials, and financial support for daily necessities. She has applied for FEMA and is awaiting an update but has not received assistance from any other organizations. Her only immediate family, a sister, is also struggling and unable to provide support. Immediate Needs include Gift cards for food, transportation, and hygiene essentials. She is facing an overwhelming situation as she prepares to welcome her baby. Any support from the community will help her regain stability and ensure she has the essential items needed for herself and her child.

The youth is working extremely hard towards independence. However, the youths' current living situation can be better. The youth shared that his mattress is so old, worn out, and uncomfortable that he can feel the springs through the fabric and it impacts his ability to get a good night rest. The youth said that he would really benefit from a new twin-size mattress for him to sleep comfortably and be rested for work and school.

Help Reunify a Bio Family
Mother is in reunification phase with her 8 year old autistic son. Mother has excelled in her case plan and recently graduated from classes. Mother is very accountable and recently acquired a job. Mother's employer is paying her just over minimum wage. She has a two bedroom home that she is responsible for financially. Mother also pays all of her own utilities. Mother uses a tablet to Facetime visits with her son three days a week after school. Mother's cell phone bill has soared and was recently shut down for lack of payment. We are asking for monetary support for her cell phone / tablet bill to ensure she continues these visits during the week. Mother was recently granted unmonitored visits with her son twice a week. Unfortunately her son resides over 125 miles away from mother. Mother would also benefit with support for gasoline expenses to continue visiting her son in person. Mother has to drive to visit with her son twice a week. We are asking for monetary support for this mother so she can afford to drive to see her son. We are extremely proud of this mother and everything she has done and continues to do to excel in her goal of reunification. Monetary support would greatly benefit this mother and son on their path to reunification.

Help Strengthen a Bio Family
A single mother with an open DCFS case has been working diligently to overcome significant challenges. To provide a bit of background, Mother lost her home when the case opened in 2021, and despite being homeless, she successfully completed her case plan. Recently, she has been able to secure stable housing, and in the same week, her children were returned to her care, marking a major milestone in her journey. However, mother is currently not employed due to a car accident that occurred a few months ago, which has placed further strain on her financial situation. At this time, mother is seeking assistance with essential household items that would significantly ease the burden of her new responsibilities as she works to settle her family and get her children into school. If assistance could be provided for these items, it would greatly alleviate stress and allow mother to focus on getting her children settled into their new routine and attending school, which will be an important adjustment for the family.

Alleviate Food/Essentials Insecurity
The client in need is a 53 yr. Old woman who was living with her 15 yr. old dog in Pacific Palisades. Although her home was not destroyed, it suffered significant damage and it was deemed unlivable. The client’s homeowner’s insurance policy had been previously cancelled in 2024 and she was forced to go with California Fair Plan Insurance which doesn’t have much coverage in regards to fire damage. The client has lost work due to the fires and is currently collecting unemployment. She is currently staying with a friend but will soon be going to an AirBnb through the assistance of 211 LA. The client is in need of financial assistance. She needs to start cleanup and remediation of her home. She is also in need of assistance with paying for one of her medications that is very expensive. The client is overwhelmed with all that needs to be done in regards to her home. She has a friend who will be coming from out of state to help her navigate through it. I am requesting financial assistance for the client so she can get her medication and start the recovery process of her home.
