The mother has worked incredibly hard to resolve her substance abuse issues and has successfully graduated from treatment. She is continuing her sobriety and going through Family Treatment Court. The girls need bunk beds in the home in order to return home to the mother hopefully this weekend. Bedding sets and pillows and blankets would also be very helpful for the family. This family has worked incredibly hard and will continue to work with DFCS for supports and services to be in place. Any help will be incredibly helpful and appreciated.

She works in a kitchen, making minimum wage, her car is very old, and it was broken for some time until grandmother could pay to fix it. Due to this- she could not pay her rent timely. She is behind, she received an eviction notice, and she has been taken to court for the eviction. Grandmother is on need of $1.500 to pay the rent; grandmother did not ask for help before now for the fear of his grandson to be removed from her care. I am requesting for your kindness and compassion for this case, you probably cannot give the whole amount, but I believe if you can contribute to the rent purpose, the amount can be collected and pay in full. Due to limited financial resources, they currently have their television on two stacked boxes which is unstable and poses a significant safety risk. Their children, including a one year old, visit them every week, and there is a real concern that the TV could be knocked over potentially causing injury. This family is fully engaged in their case plan and doing everything asked of them. Providing a TV stand will eliminate this safety hazard, ensuring a more secure and stable space for their children during visits and supporting the family's efforts to create a safe home.

Elderly adoptive mother of an 11-year-old, nonverbal, autistic child is seeking needed items. The child was adopted by his mother’s stepsister due to her being on drugs and not being able to properly care for the child. The father is unknown. The adoptive mom is in her 60s and has recently moved to Georgia to have more help with her son from her family. The family is requesting 2 beds (mattress and frame), size 14/medium clothes for a boy, and resources to pay for summer camp for a special needs child.

However, due to the requirements of her rehabilitation program, she is currently unable to work and is struggling to provide enough food at home. While she has received some assistance from food pantries and her children’s placements, we believe it is essential for her to have the opportunity to shop for her own groceries, learn to make healthy choices, and gain the skills to budget for and prepare homemade meals for her family.
