The Griffin family members have been homeless for almost two years. They have been residing in the Loudoun County Homeless Shelter for almost two years and this past week was asked to leave the facility. The mother placed the children in the home of the aunt Danita Griffin. The aunt has agreed to provide care and supervision for the children. The children do not have any summer clothes. All of the children's clothes are winter clothes. Zarea Griffin wears a size 7/8 and size 13 shoe. Zyen Griffin wears a size 6T and size 7 shoe.

Mother of 3 children is in need of a pack and play crib and a double stroller to accommodate two of her children. Mother has to walk to the school bus stop every day and has difficulties walking or carrying her toddler and infant children. Mother does not work, and the family relies on father's income to pay for all their needs. Mom reports having no income to obtain these needed items. These two items are needed to ensure children's safety (safe sleep) and to prevent children supervision issues. Thanks!

Good morning, I just wanted to let you know that our department was able to purchase the pack and play crib, therefore, this item is no longer needed.

This family is a family of 5 with all children under 6. The mother is a single mother who is recently moving to a new home. This move for the family is a great step to independence and stabilization. This mother is currently unemployed due to childcare. For the wellbeing of her children, I am asking for 3 twin size mattresses and 3 comforter sets.

This family is a grandmother who is a kinship caregiver of a 1.5 year old. The family is low income and in need of support to preserve the kinship. The grandmother works minimal hours due to age and childcare. This family is in need of summer clothing as summer is approaching. The child's size is male 24 month- 2T. The family is also in need of wipes.

Family of 5 in need of items due to mom not being able to work with recent diagnosis of Autism with 1 of 3 of their children. Mom is home to ensure safety for children due to child being nonverbal being kicked out of daycare for biting to communicate. Mom has started her child on speech therapy and ABA therapy. Father is currently working and providing, but all money is being used to pay the bills. Family is working hard to provide basic needs to children. Family is in need of Diapers size 3 and pull ups 3t-4t, soap, washing powder, cleaning supplies and essentials.

This emergency request is for a family that only has $6 in their bank account and won't receive food from the food bank for another 3 days. Would you consider a grocery delivery or funding towards groceries as well as a gas card to help her get to the food bank in a couple of days so that their family has food on the table. This need is for a family who previously was homeless and is now in secure housing. They are incredibly grateful for the home but it has poor air-conditioning. With the upcoming summer months of heat upon us they could really use some oscillating fans for the rooms of their home. Thank you for your prayers and for considering helping this family.

Family is requesting alarm systems for the home due to the mental health issues and wanted to make sure that the child is safe at night. The child has left the home multiple times in the past and the alarms will help to alert the parents if the child leaves the home at night. The family would like alarm systems on all doors and windows; the family has three doors that would need alarms and seven windows total in the home.

Consider helping a young 16 year old man who is placed at a therapeutic group home were he has been developing skills that could lead him to learn what effective relationships encompasses. He is extremely helpful, kind, thoughtful, considerate, and intelligent. If he sets his mind to it, he can accomplish anything. He is working towards rebuilding his relationship with his mother, which was immensely fractured over the years. He continues to learn how to connect with those who are a positive influence in his life. I am very proud of how resilient he is, and despite his past, he has the desire to rewrite his story.

His clothes are getting a bit snug and would love an opportunity to shop for some of his own clothing. Would love a gift card to Target or Walmart to get some clothes of his own. Thank you for considering this need and for praying for him.

I am reaching out to request support for a single mother and her 12yo.son who are currently in need of essential housing supplies, clothing, and personal items. The family is actively participating in the Homeless Assistance Program, receives SNAP benefits and utility assistance. The mother is unable to work due to an injury, chronic pain, and mental health. As a result, she faces challenges in providing for her family’s basic needs. The mother has shared concerns regarding her son’s experience at school this year. He has reported feeling isolated due to negative interactions with peers, which stem from issues such as ill-fitting, unclean clothing, and hygiene challenges. This situation is compounded by the family’s limited income. In addition to the Homeless Assistance Program, . The following items would greatly assist in improving the family’s quality of life, strengthen their bond, and help restore the child’s confidence: Paper towels, Dish soap, Dishwasher detergent, Laundry detergent, Toilet paper, Male, Feminine hygiene products, Dandruff shampoo, Clothing (Size Youth XL 18-20):Boys’ shirts, athletic pants, and athletic shorts (prefer solid neutral colors), Men’s shoe size 11 (preferably black sneakers). Please note that the family has allergies to anything containing coconut, so any products should be free of this ingredient. Any assistance or support would be deeply appreciated and would make a significant difference in this family’s well-being.

A young woman participating in our programs is a parenting teen (and is a fantastic mom!) We were recently given bikes to donate to our participants, and this young woman was SO excited to receive a bike, and mentioned how fantastic it would be to have a rear-mounted toddler seat (and helmet for a 27lb almost 3 year old!) to be able to use her bike with her daughter. (She currently walks to and from daycare pick-up, etc. and with a toddler seat would be able to bike with her little girl).

The family has requested two bikes and two scooters or an outdoor blowup pool for their boys to play with as summer approaches, allowing them to get outside and spend more time together. Both caregivers have expressed wanting to spend more time outdoors with their kids and work on bonding. The kids have a lot of energy and often turn towards damaging household items due to playing in the house and running around. The family has stated they have low income but could really use the assistance.

These items would allow for the family to spend more time together outside of the home and allow the children to play with one another during the summer months. The family is currently working through ABA Therapy services and is finding new ways to connect with their children, two of them non verbal. These items may serve as a tool to enhance the family connection/dynamic!
