Over the past few months, we’ve had the privilege of walking alongside a dedicated mom of a young child. She is truly remarkable, working hard every day to support her household and keep her family together.

In fact, she didn’t come to us with a request. It was through the relationship with one of our volunteers that we learned her apartment has no air conditioning. With the extreme heat we’ve already seen and more expected this summer, she’s doing everything she can to keep her home safe and cool. She’s currently on a waitlist for an AC unit, but there’s no guarantee one will be available in time.

Would you join us in showing this mom that she’s not alone and that her quiet strength is seen and supported? Let’s help keep her and her child safe and comfortable through the Ohio heat this summer!

We have a sweet family that have been clients of ours for a few years. They have gone though several of our parenting programs. They relocated to Atlanta. GA in search of a better living situation since they have roots down there. It has not worked out and they have been living in hotels. They don't receive much disability for the family of 5 and no car. In Atlanta to receive any assistance you must 1st reside in a homeless shelter for period of time and they don't want to have their children in a shelter. They desperately want to come back to Ohio but cant afford bus tickets PLUS what they will need for deposit and 1st months rent for a new apartment. They are looking for a church or anyone who would provide bus tickets for 4. They have 3 children but the baby can sit on a lap.

We have a kinship provider who has taken on the care of 4 boys in her home. There has been some miscommunication regarding what she needed in relation to the beds. Information received was that she needed 2 bunk bed twin frames for 4 mattresses she had already. We purchased the 2 bunk bed frames, but the caregiver did not have the mattresses and is still in need of 4 twin mattress. Any assistance would be greatly appreciated.

Single father of a 13 year old daughter and two boys ages 9 and 4 seeking assistance with 2 bills so that father may put more money towards rent. Father is in need of 200 for a Duke bill and 195 towards a cell bill so he can pay his 2300 mortgage payment and rent payment. Father has gained custody of his children in a recent divorce where mother was charged with domestic violence. Father has sole custody and is also paying for the mortgage of the marital home and rent for the property he has attained to keep himself and the children at until the courts can settle the marital finances. Father works full time and is seeking assistance with these bills to help him pay mortgage and rent along with meeting the children's basic needs. Any assistance is greatly appreciated.

This family is in need of nonperishable foods and diapers/wipes to get them through recently being evicted. Mom has just had a baby and is still trying to recover from birth while dad struggles to find work in manual labor, as he faces physical challenges due to a previous injury.

They could really use any supplies that are available to be donated to them as I help them look for housing and employment.

We’re walking alongside a resilient single mom of two young children who has recently moved out of shelter and is working hard to build a stable home. One of her current challenges is providing a safe space for her infant to stretch, play, and develop while she manages the needs of her household.

To support her in this transition, we’re requesting an Exersaucer to give her baby a secure, engaging space to grow, allowing mom a bit of relief while continuing to care well for her family. Close your eyes and envision a young, single dad as first-time parent in a 900 ft sq apartment. The living room is taken up by a big couch that doesn’t give his son, who will be returning home enough room to have space to play. You look to the left and see a kitchen that is small, clean and empty for a space for a small table and two chairs. Then you hear the dad say, “this was all I could get”.

As a nurture, I’ve grown familiar with the quiet strength it takes to keep a household running- especially during difficult times. Every day brings its own challenges, but also small victories; a meal on the table, a safe place to sleep, and the warmth of love within the home.

This letter is written with humility and hope. I am seeking support in obtaining a small couch and table with chairs to improve the functionality and comfort of the father’s home. These items would not only provide relief but also help create a more stable environment for the father and his son.

There is a family who recently opened their doors to 3 kiddos in need of a home. They are in need of beds so that they have a comfortable place to sleep. They would love if someone would be kind enough to provide them with either 3 twin beds or a bunk bed and 1 twin bed. Bedding will also be needed for these children. Your kindness is greatly appreciated.

Please help a kinship family consisting of a grandmother and her great-grandson! The grandmother, who is starting over raising her great-grandson, who is currently four years old. They need school clothing size 5/6T( gently used clothing), Amazon incontinence underwear, and PediaSure milk 24 pack( Vanilla or Strawberry).

Her grandson has an autism diagnosis and experiences sensory issues with bladder sensations, as well as heightened sensitivity to tastes and textures. He currently wears pull-up diapers, but he is discouraged about potty training because he refuses to use them. The grandmother wants to encourage his independence by purchasing washable incontinence underwear, which would also help prevent any potential bullying at school. She is worried that when he starts school in August, he may be teased by other children. Unfortunately, due to her fixed income, she cannot afford this expense out of pocket.

Additionally, she needs PediaSure milk, which is no longer covered by WIC since her grandson has aged out of the program. He will not drink regular milk or any other substitutes because of his sensory sensitivities.

A donation would significantly help this family, as the grandmother struggles to buy these essential items on her limited income. Thank you for considering helping them!

62248310- A caregiver has reached out to OhioKAN seeking assistance in securing rental support for the month of June. After recently moving into a new residence, she received an emergency placement of her three-year-old granddaughter and had to allocate funds to provide essential items to ensure the child's safety, comfort, and well-being. As a result, she is now facing a $200 shortfall for her upcoming rent payment. Despite her efforts to maintain a stable home environment and fulfill the child's needs, the unexpected financial burden has left her unable to pay her full rent by June 1st. Given that this will be her first complete month in the residence, she is afraid to disrupt the relationship with her new landlord. Any financial assistance available to help her maintain stability for the child during this transition would be greatly appreciated.

Single pregnant mother of a one year old daughter in need of 200 for an apartment deposit to reunify her family. Mother is pregnant and due in September and mother had to put her daughter in foster care due to losing housing and became homeless after she could no longer stay with her mother at a senior living apartment. Mother could only stay for 2 weeks and was made to leave. If housing is acquired mother's daughter will be returned. Mother has found an apartment and JFS and Talbert house are assisting and mother only needs 200 more to move in. Mother is working and can maintain rental payments on an ongoing basis.

I am working with a kinship caregiver (grandmother) who is working on getting her license to be an in-home child care provider not only for the two grandbabies she is working on getting full legal custody of, but also to serve families in the community by providing quality childcare. To help her provide quality care for her grandchildren, she is looking for a wagon to carry them in when she is out and about.
