First Baptist Church - Rockport

This sweet mom of 4 (2 teenage girls, 2 toddler boys) was recently injured at work and is needing support and help with her two youngest during the day while she is at home. The injury was to her dominant arm, so she is wrangling toddlers with one arm and has no immediate family in the area to assist. Her employer allows her to bring her young kids to work with her, so she will have assistance with the kids during work hours once she returns. I'm sure she would be appreciative of help with meals as well, to alleviate some of the burden while she heals. This client has been attending a church, but because of work and school schedules hasn't been able to connect with a small group, but is very interested in making friends in the faith community as well. We believe that a church coming alongside her in friendship and support would not only help her rest and heal more completely, but would encourage her in faith as well. I'm placing a $50 value on "groceries" because the system requires an item and an amount, and in case a church wanted to take a meal or groceries for their first meeting. But food is truly a secondary need to the love and support I know the responding church will provide. Thank you in advance! **Updated to add: My client has expressed that one of the hardest tasks has been to get her laundry to the laundry mat with kids in tow - if someone were able to pick up laundry from her to wash and return (she will even provide detergent) that would be extremely helpful.

There is a mother who is currently facing a financial hardship. Due to a delay in receiving her disability check for January, she is unable to pay her rent and is at risk of eviction. Her landlord has been understanding and has extended her time to pay, but the situation is still very concerning. Help this family out from being evicted.

I have a client that has recently moved out of an RV she was sharing with her husband. She and her husband are legally separated and moved here recently for his job. She does not have any family or friends in the area so she has no support. She and her three girls ages ten, three and two, have moved into an apartment this past week and have been sleeping on one air mattress together. She will eventually need a total of 3 beds for her and the girls, but is able to continue sleeping on the air mattress for now and prefers to focus on making sure the girls each have a place to sleep. She is currently 13 weeks pregnant. Thank you so much for your consideration in providing safe sleep spaces and peace of mind, knowing their community cares for them, to this family.

Grandmother is currently caring for her grandchildren after her daughter’s incarceration, and she currently has custody of the children. As she works to provide a stable environment for them, she is facing financial difficulties and is unable to afford the necessary toddler beds. Due to missing work in order to care for the children, her ability to provide these basic needs has been significantly impacted.

This single mom has been attending our program for some time, she is a mother of two beautiful children. She has 1 boy who is almost turning 4 and a 1-year-old girl. Her son is ready to transition to a big boy bed. Mom has been able to acquire a twin bed frame and box spring, however, is still needing assistance with the twin mattress and a bedding set and pillow for him. Due to being a single parent household with limited income these last few items have been a challenge. This sweet momma could also use the encouragement of the local church in providing a safe community and fellowship as she navigates being a single mom.

Dad is struggling to make ends meet. He works hard every day but barely makes enough to cover the essentials. His income is low, and after paying a substantial amount in child support to Mom, there's very little left. On top of that, the cost of gas to drive back and forth from Calallen to Rockport for work is draining whatever money he has left. The commute takes a toll not only on his finances but also on his time and energy. Despite all his efforts, he's barely scraping by, constantly worried about making rent, keeping up with bills, and providing for his family. Right now, he desperately needs help with a deposit to ease some of the financial pressure and hopefully save a little money on fuel, as he is trying to move locally to help with his financial hardships. He just wants to have enough to get by without feeling like he's always struggling to make it through each month.
