Two of the children(ages 15 and 10) are currently sharing a single bed. A bunk bed along with two mattresses and bed linens would greatly improve their sleeping arrangements. One of the children is a teenager who needs his own space and privacy for rest and development. Having separate beds will be beneficial to the boys as they will be able to experience better sleep and have a little space of their own. Storage bins, bags, and totes are also items the family is in need of as it will assist the family’s ability to stay organized and maintain a safe living environment. A stair gate is also essential for the safety of the youngest child(1 year old). The absence of a baby gate further increases this risk, as it leaves areas of the home potentially unsafe for a small child to explore.

ACS is working with a single mom with 5 children who has been living in a DV situation. The father is no longer in the home and the mother has asked for a safety transfer. She has no furniture and everything they have is packed in a living room as she wats for the transfer. Mom and the children are sleeping in one room and have no air conditioning. She is desperate for some relief for her and the children and is asking for one a/c so they can sleep more comfortably. The children range from 10 months old to 14 years old. The children also need summer clothes.

There are children under our care whose mother has been striving for reunification with them. The agency seeks assistance for the mother. Currently, she is unemployed and is actively seeking employment. She is a Licensed Practical Nurse. An opportunity for employment has arisen with a local agency. However, she requires assistance to cover the fees necessary for renewing her certificate/license. In order to secure employment, she must comply with the requirements set by NY State, which include: Renewing her New York LPN registration, submitting a renewal application, completing the online renewal process via the NYSED Office of the Professions' Online Registration Renewal system, paying a renewal fee of $73 along with a processing fee of $10.95, updating her CPR/AED certificate for $25, and fulfilling CE requirements. I would like to request assistance with these fees, as the mother is currently unable to afford these expenses. Providing her with support for these fees will contribute to a brighter future and financial stability for her three young children. Therefore, I would like to request a gift card in the amount of $125 to enable her to complete her application online.

As the hot summer months approach, we have a family in need of Fans (2 if possible, for separate bedrooms areas). The apartment is very hot with no proper circulations.

Unemployed parents with three children in the home, dealing with various medical issues, such as asthma, high blood pressure and severe allergies do not have a cooling system in their home . Due to the increased temperatures this week and the summer in general, it is imperative that this family have an air conditioner and box fans to keep a comfortable temperature in their home to avoid any other potential health risks.

Her EBT card was recently stolen and she is using the limited funds she has at the moment on groceries to feed her children. The family is living in a very high-crime area where they are sometimes afraid to leave their apartment. This family is in need of groceries, cleaning items and baby items. The mother is requesting diapers and wipes for her newborn, baby laundry detergent, cleaning supplies and plastic portable storage drawers from Target.

A resilient young mother is currently facing a difficult chapter. With a 6-month-old baby and a nearly 6-year-old daughter depending on her, she recently suffered a serious foot injury after a fall. This injury has left her unable to work and severely limited her ability to travel or access resources.

Despite her strength and determination, the strain of caring for two young children without income or reliable mobility is immense. Her family urgently needs support: summer clothing for both daughters (size 6 mo. and larger, size 6 and up for the older daughter who likes pink), These basic needs are critical to ensuring the health, comfort, and dignity of her children during this vulnerable time.

Child is in foster care with GCDSS. His Grandfather has petitioned to be sole guardian of the child. This teenage boy will be transitioning to his grandfather's home around July 2nd, 2025.
This Grandfather has a small two-bedroom apartment with a bed and dresser ready for his grandson and is happy to have him come live with him. Although his grandfather has been able to secure a bed and dresser, he is not able to provide the necessities to go along with the bed.
