This family is in need of food. The recent power outage resulted in the food in the refrigerator to spoil. There is a special needs child in the home which makes this request more urgent. The special needs child is hooked up to many medical devices and needs 24 hour care. The family states the replacement cost to be $100.00 to $150.00.

Dad is a single father that has full custody of the child. He has been struggling due to not having much work recently. DSS is in the process of setting the family up for benefits and childcare to assist the family further. The father has requested assistance with clothing for the child since he has been in and out of work recently. Dad is requesting 24 month male clothes, specifically pants. Please contact worker for more information.

Mother recently lost her job and is seeking assistance with basic house supplies such as toilet paper, paper towels and hygiene items. She is looking for new jobs however has not been successful and she has two children in her home. One of her children has fairly significant mental health issues and domestic violence has been a concern in the past.

A foster youth has been in treatment about 3.5 hours away from Roanoke and his mother is rarely able to see him due to lack of transportation. A friend of hers is able to drive her on the weekend to see her child if she is able to pay for gas to and from the RTC.

This family is the father and his only 4 year old daughter; the mother is not in the country. The father does not have much support from his other brothers and sister, he lives alone with the child but they have difficulty meeting their basic needs and this is something the department is trying to help and follow up with the case. Dad sleeps with his daughter in the same bed; however, it is necessary for the child to have her own bed. Also, dad works in construction so, this means that sometimes he works and other days he does not. We hope that Dad can find stability for his daughter and that this help can contribute to his family.

Family struggling with household function. Children just came back home after being placed with grandparents. They have new beds for their bedroom but they are in need to a dresser or 2 dresser for the children. They would appreciate so much your help.

Family is seeking storage totes to assist with making their home more functional as it is currently cluttered. Mother recently lost her job and father does not work. They also have a child with mental health concerns.

A family of 4 with a single mother request help with groceries and clothing for her 12yo boy who is outgrowing his shirts, pants, and shoes. The working mother cannot afford more size appropriate clothes at this time, and the boys shoes have begun to hurt his feet. The family recently moved to Roanoke city and has not yet been able to receive assistance with food.

Groceries: No preferences shirt and pants size: 12-14 shoes size: 7 1/2- 8

We are currently working with a couple living in a hotel with a newborn baby (born 2/5) and they are in need of baby items.

The family could use the following: Baby clothes (baby is 6 lbs...size newborn and size 0-3) Various baby supplies (diapers, wipes, formula, blanket, diaper cream, etc.)

Anything baby related is appreciated as the family has very little at this time.

A single mother has experienced hardship due to her child's medical expenses. The oldest child has a chronic condition requiring doctor visits and medication. The family has fallen behind on utility bills and needs help keeping the heat on in the home. The gas company is charging them an unexpected reconnection fee.

Biological family requesting assistance with bedding; looking to receive either a Big Lots gift card or Walmart gift card to purchase bedding for daughter. Client indicated that Big Lots may have options given they are having a sale due to going out of business. Walmart is also having sales at this time. Requesting assistance with a full-size bedding. This would include client purchasing a bed frame and mattress.

We have a family with three children who moved to the area within the last year - with nothing but the clothes on their back. They are renting, but have no property of their own.

They are needing couches and a kitchen table with chairs. They are open to items that are not brand-new.

The family does not speak English, a translator or a translator app will need to be present.
