Single mother working on medical leave due to broken ankle. She is needing 481.00 for rent assistance. Careportal assisted with uber card recently to help child get 11 year old daughter to school. Mother does not drive due to seizure disorder and uses electric bycicle. She shares she has no family in Houston but in Louisiana. She was able to pay rent with workmans comp for June but workmans' comp is over and she is still healing from ankle. I referred her to work programs addressing transport and health. Children ages 12 and 11. Her son is in care of grandfather who brought 12 year old son to visit for summer only but parent is struggling with health and finances. She also has to pay light bill and her phone is disconnected. She is able to use 12 year old's phone that grandfather unlocked this morning from afar. Mother reports she lacks support and connection.

I have an older caregiver who is willing to care for her grandbaby, who will be released from the hospital soon. The caregiver is need of an Infant car seat, so she is able to transport the infant to upcoming doctor appointments, etc.

The family is living in a one-bedroom rundown apartment. There are 4 girls sharing a nasty dirty rundown queen or mattress. The boy has a broken-down dirty twin mattress. There is a 5th daughter. She is staying with a friend as few doors down. Parents want her home; she does not want to return. If she does a bed can be requested for her later. The father works and tries to provide for the children. Ages of the girls 17, 9, 7, and 3. The boy is 12. The girl outside the home 14. The beds would need to fit in one room.

****FOOD SCARCITY IS AN ISSUE, **We are in the process of getting her on SNAP, WIC and Medicaid but these take time. 15-year-old mother with no family support no longer living in familial home requires baby items for her medically fragile child age 22 months. Items being requested are safety items for the home; plug covers, (1) baby gate, Magnetic cabinet locks that don't require nails, monkey locks, a highchair, plates and bowls for a toddler, clothing/pajamas 18mo-2t, diapers size 6, age-appropriate toys, books etc. She also needs cleaning supplies, bucket, mop, broom, kitchen/bathroom cleaning supplies. She does have crib and car seat provided by the department. If you need it for a child, she needs it. Any and all help we can provide for this mother is greatly appreciated. She is a child herself and is dealing with an extraordinary set of circumstances. She herself needs a support system.

The mother is a single parent of four children. No fathers are involved. The current bunk bed used by the two oldest children is in poor condition and is falling apart. Receiving new beds will provide a safe and stable sleeping arrangement alleviating the mother's concerns about the current bed's safety. The children are males ages 6 and 8.

A mother currently working services through CPS is preparing for the release of her newborn baby, Jaylynn, from the NICU. Jaylynn was born premature and has significant medical needs, including a diagnosis that will require open heart surgery. The mother is requesting support with essential baby care items to help her prepare for Jaylynn’s transition home and recovery. She is in need of newborn and 0–3 month baby clothes, size newborn and size 1 diapers, swaddle blankets, burp cloths, and a baby healthcare kit with essentials such as a thermometer, baby nail clippers, and a brush. Providing these items will help ensure the mother is equipped to care for her medically fragile infant and support a stable, nurturing environment as they prepare for Jaylynn’s surgery and continued care.

Youth is 16 and placed in a hotel for CWOP. Youth has been accepted into a residential treatment facility and has been hesitant to go. Youth has finally decided he will go, but insists on having a fan and some rechargable batteries to go along with it before he will go. Youth has a lower IQ and this is a breaking point for him. The facility will not allow a fan that plugs into the wall. If this request can be met, it will get the youth out of the hotel and into a placement to help him get treatment! Youth has had very good behavior while in the hotel and this could be a huge possibility for him. Thank you in advance!

Mother and her 3 children currently reside with her aunt. Aunt is watching the children while mother works each day. Aunt does not have any type of seating for the 2 older children in the living room area, where they spend most of their time doing activities or watching TV. The children are having to sit on the floor all day while they are home since they are currently out of school for the summer. The family is asking for assistance in some type of small chairs or bean bags for the 11yo and 6yo to use daily. 11mth old baby is outgrowing her bouncer and starting to roll out of it. Baby is needing a more appropriate seating for her age to be able to sit or nap in where she cant get out of.

Child who is currently without a placement and being supervised by DFPS staff is needing to get her dreadlocks retwisted and maintained.
