A mother who is working to reunify with her 4 young children, a 10 year old male, and three females ages 8, 7, and 6. The mother reports she will need assistance with securing beds for the children, but she reports she can obtain the other bedroom furniture that they will need. The mother has reported that she has painted and had housing fix the broken parts of her home and she is now ready to start preparing their rooms. The Department is requesting 4 twin beds and 4 twin mattresses. Assistance with bedding and pillows for each child could also be very helpful. Seeking support for an 11-month-old baby girl who has been in CDSS care since birth. She is currently placed with her paternal aunt, who has been actively meeting all of the baby’s developmental and emotional needs.

As the baby was born small and has experienced some developmental delays, she has been able to safely use her current sleeping arrangement until now. However, she has grown significantly and now requires a larger crib to continue to meet her needs safely. Her aunt is requesting assistance in providing a new crib for this child. Any support would be greatly appreciated to help ensure her continued growth, safety, and well-being.

CDSS is working with a high needs 16 year old non verbal youth diagnosed with Autism Spectrum Disorder and Intellectual Disability, and his 13 year old sister. Their parent is a single mother in need a working washing machine- it does not need to be new. This parent has to do an excessive amount of laundry because of sons needs associated to accidents and behaviors. Also a gas card for assistance with transport for therapeutics services would be helpful for this family. Thank you for your consideration!

I am reaching out to request summer clothing support for a 15-year-old boy through our early prevention program, who is being cared for by a relative to prevent foster care. As we prepare for the warmer months, we are hoping to receive a few essential items to ensure he is comfortable and confident this season. He is in need of the following clothing items: • Hoodies (for cooler evenings) • T-shirts (Boys size Medium) • Jeans (Size 14) • Nike shoes (Men’s size 7.5)

We are reaching out for a parent who is preparing to move into a new apartment within the next week or so. As he begins this important transition, we are seeking support with some essential items to help him settle in and create a stable and welcoming home environment.

Specifically, we are requesting assistance with the following: • Size 10 tennis shoes for the summer season • Bed (frame, mattress, sheets, and pillow) • Dresser or similar storage These items will help ensure that he has a basic, comfortable living setup as he starts this new chapter. He is working hard toward reunification with his child, who is currently in foster care, and securing stable housing is a key step in that process. We are also continuing to look for opportunities to move into larger housing as he progresses toward reunification

Single mother of 4, unemployed is in need of a queen size mattress and bedframe (current frame is broken and mattress has mold). Currently she has to use any money that she receives for her children and housing needs.

Mother of two Autism children in need of two beds located at a local church. She has no way of moving the beds. The two beds are in storage and needs delivery to her Apt. She has moved from another state and has no connections.

CDSS is currently working with a family who has employment but with multiple children is low on money for having extra expenses. The family is currently in need of a bunk bed (bunk bed, mattress, sheets, pillow) for their children to maximize the limited space they have, and to ensure the children have safe and proper bedding.

Clothing request for a 7 year old female placed with her god-mother after court intervention from DSS. This request will help preserve a placement that is not receiving financial assistance for taking in this child.

Please consider helping this struggling young family. Mom is trying to provide a better life for her two young children and create a safe loving space while working two jobs. They are in need of gently used twin beds, frames or mattresses to meet the basic requirements for children to live with her. The family has moved just out of Charlottesville since rent was more affordable but is willing and able to pick up items anywhere. Family speaks english.
