We have a grandmother who is caring for her grandchild. The child's parents have abandoned the child. He was in foster care for a period of time. The grandmother worked hard to get in a position to get her child out of foster care. The grandmother struggles with poverty. The child also has heightened behavioral needs which the grandmother is still learning to parent. She is in several parenting classes and counseling services to help care for her grandchild. The grandmother also works a full time job working in a kitchen at a restaurant. However, she recently had severe car issues over the last month or so that caused her to miss work. She is back to working now, but because she used money to fix her car she is unable to pay rent. Between the parenting classes, counseling, her age and all other child needs its difficult for her to work extra. The grandmother is also struggling with overall high prices of daily life. She is behind $1,500 is rent and at risk of being evicted. If the grandmother get evicted it will be impossible to get another place with this on her record. The grandmother would be homeless and the child would go back into foster care. Any help is greatly appreciated.

We have been working with a youth in care for the last 10 years, and on March 3, she ages out of foster care. She is an art major and has two jobs. She will be moving into her own apartment, and we are hoping to provide her with some of the immediate things she will need to make her new apartment a "home." She has identified the following needs: 1) Grocery Store gift card to stock her fridge and pantry, 2) Uber/Lyft gift card as she does not have her own transportation, 3) Coffee Pot, 4) Dinner Plates, 5) Dinner Bowls, 6) Paper Towel Holder, 7) Cleaning Supplies (multipurpose cleaner, sponges, laundry detergent, etc), 8) Mop, 9) Broom, 10) vaccuum, 11) paper towels, 12) toilet paper and whatever else folks might want to help shower her with.

This family consists of a single father who is caring for his two children with special mental health needs. He works very hard to care for them and provide them the best opportunities but is struggling financially. His daughter wants to join gymnastics, but he cannot afford it at this time on top of all of the children's needs. He would greatly appreciate any assistance in this matter. The tuition is $97 per month.

This mother has been struggling financially with her rent the since late last month. Alyssa is a single mother of 3 that recently suffered from a terrible domestic violence incident with her former partner, who was once helping her with her monthly expenses. As a result of the domestic violence incident, the mother sustained a fractured foot, causing her to miss work the past few weeks. She was hospitalized and unable to work as usual. This eventually led to her being let go from her job. The mother pays her rent weekly and will currently be behind 3 weeks this coming Friday. The mother landlord is warning her about eviction if she misses another payment. The mother does not have anyone else to turn to, with the lack of family support. The mother is starting a new job in the next week or two and should have rent going forward. If you can find it in your heart to help this family, they would be so appreciative to stay in their safe/warm home. Thank you!

This mother is a loving and caring mother to four children. She has a history of substance use but was able to maintain sobriety for several years. She has recently relapsed and is in need of in-patient treatment but is unable to pay the admission fee. Rehab will greatly assist this mother with getting back on her feet and moving towards reunification with her children.

This family is in need of reliable transportation. The family has a car that does not run. The father is disabled, has limited income and is unable to walk the child to and from the bus stop in addition to not having transportation to get to his medical appointments. They would greatly benefit from having the car repaired or the ability to obtain more reliable transportation. The family has limited support in the area and is now reaching out to their community for help. Please support this family in any way that you can.

Dawson County DFCS is currently working with a family that is in need of some trash removal services. The family has been struggling financially, and have not been able to afford trash services, causing trash to pile up at the home recently. We believe if we can do a one-time mass trash removal, it will allow the family to start anew and maintain the home more appropriately going forward.

The family currently consists of one child and two adults.

Lumpkin County is working with two children that have recently had to move into the home of their mother's home. Their mother has struggled with health issues and is limited financially. The children currently do not have mattresses to have their own beds. The family has the furniture but cannot currently afford the mattress. They are also without a working dryer. Having these items would make the transition for the family much smoother and help to ensure that the children do not enter foster care.

The father is currently in the process of getting his two children reunited with him. The dad just got approved for a new home and is in the process of getting furniture however he does not have furniture for the children so in order for them to go back to dad we are in need of some items! Children ages 5(girl) and 6(boy). These dont have to be new!!! Items needed: Twin mattresses x2 Bed frame for boy.
