Help Strengthen a Bio Family

Hello Care Portal Family and Supports! I have a family who is needing help with getting a washer and dryer for their home. This is a young family with two kids of their own (4yrs old and 8 months old), one on the way, and a teenager who was in Custody that they took in when they didn't have to. This family is trying to get a washer and dryer so they can spend less time and money at the laundromat and more time at home raising their young children and the teenager they took in. This family is spending several hours a week at the laundromat due to the amount of clothes they go through with their family and not being able to save their money that they were trying to save for a washer and dryer after taking in the teenage boy. Would somebody be willing to help this family?

Help Support a Youth Aging Out

Help a Determined Young Woman Create Her First Home

At just 19 years old, this resilient young woman is stepping into a new chapter of her life. Having recently aged out of foster care, she’s worked tirelessly to maintain steady employment at a local childcare facility—a job she’s held with dedication for several years. Now, she’s preparing to take a big leap: moving out of government-subsidized housing and into her very first apartment, where she can finally experience the independence she’s been working so hard for.

While she’s overcome many obstacles to reach this point, she faces the challenge of moving into an unfurnished space. Without the resources to collect furniture over the years, her new home will be empty—missing the comforts and warmth that make a space truly feel like your own.

We would love to help her start this new chapter with dignity and pride by furnishing her living room. We are seeking donations of new or gently used items such as a: -Sofa/LoveSeat -coffee table -TV/ TV stand -Floor Lamp

(Decorative items are also welcome and will be considered based on available space.)

Ideally, donated items can be delivered directly to her new home, and we’re happy to assist with coordinating logistics. Let’s help her step into adulthood not just with four walls, but with a place she can truly call home.

Help Preserve a Kinship Placement

I am currently working with a caretaker who has 2 children, and she now has custody of 3 relatives. The caretaker is no longer receiving family first and her next WIC appointment is scheduled in a few days. The caretaker is working with the Relative Caregiver Program, but she has not received a payment from them. There is a 2-month-old infant who needs formula. The caretaker has asked the parents to assist with the formula, but they cannot at this time. The caretaker cannot afford to purchase the formula and needs assistance. The baby needs Similac Advance Powder Formula.

Help Prevent a Child From Entering Foster Care

This family consists of a mom, her elderly grandmother, and the mom's two teenage sons. The family is in need of a hotel room for one night while their home is being fogged out for roaches and flees. The family has found someone who will assist with getting the home clean, but the family is not able to be in the home during that process. The family does not have transportation to get to and from the hotel room so the family will benefit from either an uber or lyft to get to and from the hotel.

Help Improve a Child's Wellbeing

A family has been without a water heater for close to a year or so and the child in the home isn't able to take warm baths. The family is in the process of acquiring other appliances and are not able to purchase the water heater so assistance would be greatly appreciated. The family found a water heater for a little or close to $500. They are also looking for support from others in any way that can be given whether it's community or access to local resources. Anything could help as they would like to have warm water by the end of the season in preparation for the colder months.

Help Prevent a Child From Entering Foster Care

We recently started working with a family and discovered there is a 10-month-old with no crib to sleep in. The mother is not able to purchase one at this time. Without a crib the baby has a greater chance of either having to be safety placed or brought into DCS custody. Assistance with this item can help keep this family intact.

Help Prevent a Child From Entering Foster Care

The family consists of an adoptive mom, grandmother (85), and her two sons age 13 and 16. The family has lived in the same a 2-bedroom apartment for over 13 years. Both mom and children all struggle with autism and many other diagnoses. Over the years the home has collected trash and antiques that have not been clean properly and since then the home have roaches. The entire home has been infested with roaches and is need of a junk removal and deep cleaning. In the room one of the youth sleeps in is filled to the window seal with trash example pizza boxes, coke bottles, and different wrappers. The home is deemed unsafe for the children. The grandmother has adult protective services in the home, but APS have refused to come into the home due to the home having flees from the family allowing stary cats in the home. The mother has expressed due to the children having severe autism and behavioral problems she is not able to clean the home. The mother has said the home has years on trash in it and she is currently trying to get it clean since DCS is involved. DCS has implemented service in the home to assist with cleanliness of the home, but the service only does light cleaning. The family is in need of a deep cleaning and junk removal, so the kids are able to remain in the home since the family do not have any resources to get the home clean.
