Story
I am currently working with a 27 y/o mother of 2, ages 7 and 9. This mother is also currently 14 weeks pregnant with an unborn child as well. This family was just evicted on Sunday and currently has no where to go, after she and the father of her baby split up. After the separation, this mother was left with no job or income as FOB was the sole provider. This mother has no additional support here as all of her family lives outside of the country. She had enough money after the eviction to get a motel room for a couple of days, but has since been having to live in her car. She has been actively looking for a job, but has not had any leads as of yet. Her children have been able to stay with their paternal grandparents the last few days, but will have to come back on Friday and the family has no where to go at this time. This mother is currently overwhelmed and worried that CPS may get involved if she has no where for her kids to sleep once they return to her on Friday. Thus, we are graciously requesting assistance with getting this family a motel stay for a week to give Mom a little bit more time to navigate this heartbreaking situation, and to keep her family safe and warm while she continues to search for a more permanent living situation for them.
